Woah. Yet another major scare for Oshkosh as Borchert left tonight's game with 6 minutes left in a limp and did not return. Hopefully he's okay as he's obviously the biggest piece for the Titans. Didn't look terrible, but also not great. Oshkosh dominated Stevens Point 79-58.

Whitewater scores yet another conference and country shaking road upset, this time winning at Platteville, 78-75. Stout hung on and won at Eau Claire 94-89. And La Crosse led close most of the way and won at River Falls, 80-72.

I am now officially puzzled and confused by the conference standings listing 8-3 Platteville ahead of 8-2 Oshkosh.

Huge game Saturday features La Crosse at Oshkosh at 8pm CT. A lot on the line.

A good old fashioned WIAC barn burner last night as WW beat Platteville 78-75. Neither team led by double digits in the back and forth game. Platteville had a slight lead with about 8 minutes left when WW picked up it's 7th foul and I thought the Pioneers would pull away at the free throw line.  But it was WW who won at the line. WW made 19 free throws with Malensek going 8 for 8. In addition to free throws WW made 9 of 17 three pointers to stay in and eventually pull away from Platteville.

Blugolds completely choked that game away last night. Up 4 and they come down with a defensive rebound with 37 seconds left only to turn the ball over on 3 consecutive possessions, the first 2 being back court that led to a layup and a layup +1 and Stout up one. Stout finishes off the final 37 seconds on a 9-0 run.

Blugolds are such a frustrating team to watch as turnovers continue to be their Achilles Heel. Can't win if you turning the ball over at the rate they do.

In UW-Oshkosh's preview of Saturday's big game:

"A UW-Oshkosh win Saturday would perhaps provide the Titans the upper hand in earning the top seed at the league tournament heading into Wednesday's (Feb. 16) WIAC regular season finales. Seeding for the eight-team WIAC Tournament, which commences with first round games next Friday (Feb. 18), will be determined by the head coaches after the conclusion of the regular season."

Confirms that the coaches will seed the eight teams after Wednesday's games.

With two games left for each team, I gotta believe the seedings would look like this as of today:

1.  UWO (Beat Platteville AND La Crosse Twice)
2.  Platteville  (Beat La Crosse Twice)
3.  La Crosse
4.  Whitewater (Beat Stout Twice and have wins over Oshkosh and Platteville)
5.  Stout (All 6 WIAC victories versus River Falls, Eau Claire and Stevens Point)
6.  River Falls (Beat Eau Claire twice)
7.  Eau Claire
8.  Stevens Point

Obviously a La Crosse victory over Oshkosh and/or a Stout victory over Whitewater on Saturday could makes these guesses "moot."

Blugolds hold on to beat the Pointers tonight. Blugolds hit 2 FTs at the 6:58 mark to take an 11 point lead only to see the Pointers go on a 12-0 run over the next 6 minutes to take a 59-58 lead. Blugolds take the lead 60-58 with 54 seconds left and manage to hold on for the win despite missing 2 front ends of a 1 and 1 during the final seconds of the game.

Close out the regular season Wednesday at Platteville. Should be pretty much locked into the #7 seed for conference tournament.

Oshkosh defeated La Crosse, 80-77. Muench 7-8 from three finished with 27. Feels like every night a different Titan steps up and shines. Steckbauer returned and looked good. That's good news for the Oshkosh rotation as the Titan starters log a ton of minutes. Borchert was just fine health wise and was "held' to 15 and 6. It was really Seth Anderson keeping the Eagles in the game in the second half with some good drives to the rim.  Seth Anderson had 23 and Ethan Anderson had 20.

IMO a two horse race between Borchert and E. Anderson for WIAC POY.

River Falls got Platteville at home. Probst made some big threes late to keep Platteville close late, but Tuma missed a three at the buzzer for the tie. Falcons win 74-71.

Garrett Nelson missed the running three at the buzzer for the win as Point remains winless in conference. Eau Claire hangs on to win by one.

Another report to make as Titan Q said senior nights can tell us a lot on who will come back. Here's four reports from yesterday.

Oshkosh honored Muench and Petrie. Eric Peterson, one of the best defenders in the league, and starting point guard Hunter Plamann will return for another season.

Stout honored all seven seniors. I believe Scott was the only one with the ability to come back, but he is graduating. This Blue Devil group turned the program in the right direction. Stout will go through major roster turnover. Hopefully Lake can keep building.

Eau Claire honored Brooks and Banasik. Spencer Page to return for another year.

River Falls honored Phillips and Robarge. Noah Hanson, a great scorer, to return.

Whitewater did senior day last Saturday, hard to make things out for them and I believe they honored some juniors. I think Point's decisions are largely known thanks to tomt. Mootz and Wagner to return I'm pretty certain. I'm interested in following La Crosse and Platteville on Wednesday night, a few decisions for each.

For Point, Garret Nelson and Brady Wagner are using 5th years this current season.  They are gone regardless for next season.  Mootz is using a 5th year next year while Timmerman is graduating and entering the work force.

Oshkosh is the clear heavy favorite next year with Plamann and Peterson both back for 5th years.

If anyone planned on listening to the radio show from last night...don't bother.  I learned literally nothing from it.

Other than the WIAC was struggling to find officials (mainly women's) for Saturday, which is why the first round is Friday night. I listened live and regretted it.

Same old, same old this season from Bob last night.

Ethan Anderson will be back for a 5th year next year for La Crosse.  Big news if you're a La Crosse fan.

Good job getting your team ready to play the last home game of the season Semling.  UWSP down 39-10 with 9 minutes remaining in the first half, pathetic effort all the way around.
