From his social media account, looks like Cliff McCray is actually leaving Point for a conference rival....Whitewater.

He started at Stout 3 seasons ago. Then did pretty well when he transferred to Point for the Covid year. Played all 8 games and actually started 5. Not sure what happened last season. Played in only 5 games, no starts and played 12 minutes a game. To be fair, it looks like he was credited a game but played zero minutes.

Cliff McCray had a horrible go at it with Covid last year during the season.  It hit him hard and it took him awhile to come back.

Darrius Bolden has found his next destination.  Bolden will be transferring from UWSP to John Wood Community College in Quincy, IL.

Yes, really good shooter.  Would be a fantastic player for a WIAC school, is he transferring to UWRF?

6'0" G, James Sivley, of St Josephs Prep School in PA will continue his basketball career at UWSP.  I don't know for sure of course, but there can't be many, if any, players from Pennsylvania to suit up for UWSP.

Interesting. The Twitter announcement also says, "Lastly..." So, no more recruits/announcements?

Yes, 12 player recruiting class is huge.  The influx of this talent will allow Point to compete at the top.

Point loses Timmermann, Nelson, Wagner, McCray and Bolden.  Goes from a roster of 14 and having issues playing 5 on 5 during the season at practice  due to injuries and Covid, to a roster of 21.  I would guess a couple of guys out of the 21 don't make it to the regular season roster.

No doubt a Travel & Tourism major preparing for a career with the Wisconsin Dept. of Tourism.  ;)
If he has any eligibility remaining after this season, we'll probably see him at Oshkosh next year.  ::)
So young hero, ask yourself............................Do you want to go to college, get a good education, and play (basketball)(football), or do you want to go to college, get a good education, and watch (basketball)(football)? 🤔 😏

Don't surround yourself with yourself. 🧍🏼‍♂️(Yes)

Apparently James has attended the Point basketball camp for years. I found a picture of him with Semling signing a shirt for him back in 2015.

I saw that as well.  Which means the coaching staff has seen him in person multiple times and must have liked what they saw to offer him a roster spot.  Information is scarce as far as his basketball exploits go, but hopefully the coaching staff got this evaluation correct.

UWSP got a nice new Sidearm website this week, but still no mens basketball schedule. Here's 8/11 games confirmed by the other team.

UWSP
11/8 vs St Olaf
11/12 Webster
11/13  IWU/YU
11/19 vs Edgewood
11/22 vs WLC
11/25 at Hope
11/26 at Calvin
12/8  vs Trine

With three remaining games, my speculation is the annual game against Augustana the week before Christmas and then two games between Christmas and New Years somewhere. Maybe even someone knows where their holiday trip is, but I can't find it at the present on other schedules.

UWSP is no longer playing at Hope on11/25. I wonder if the Calvin game is cancelled as well?

Woah, that is really interesting that Point and Hope are no longer playing. Here are a few scheduling updates we can make now that the team pages are created by d3hoops (likely Pat or Ryan).

UW-Stevens Point is going to the Trinity Texas tournament right before Christmas. Going to play games December 20 and 21. Looks like Southwestern and Trinity will be the opponents. Still two games out there TBD/TBA now.

Most of UW-Platteville's schedule can be discovered. Non cons at Lawrence, at Augsutana, vs Illinois Tech, vs North Central IL, vs Hope, vs CUW, vs Concordia MN (D3HCLV), vs Franklin and Marshall (D3HCLV). Still three games out there TBD/TBA and I have a hunch one of them is not Hampden-Sydney.

Pat Coleman

You are right on top of it. I just created the WIAC pages this morning.

Gordon Mann has been doing the bulk of the team page creation this offseason.

UW-Eau Claire has posted an update to their schedule. Still some conference dates to fill in as of this typing. All other 11 can be accounted for.

Non cons: vs Bethel, at Saint John's, St. Olaf, vs Northwestern, vs Northland, vs MSOE, vs Wartburg, at UW-Superior, at St. Norbert, n Marian, n Ohio Wesleyan.

Something I did remember and was just again confirmed this week is UW-Platteville is going the UW-Superior tournament, so the Lawrence game is n in Superior and then they'll indeed get Superior or Central the next day. So, they're down to just two games TBA/TBD in reality.

Don't know how good St. OLaf is supposed to be this year, but UWRF just beat them 50-3 in a scrimmage. I got there late so I asked a guy whether that was a final score. He said it was only the end of the first half. But St. Olaf called a halt to it, so UWRF, with over a hundred players along, ended up scrimmaging themselves.
