I'd say it ended up being a disappointing 2022 for WIAC MBB. All three teams lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament, including two at home. I thought we had three strong senior led teams to make deep tournament runs, but not to be. And the start to this season has been rather down. Underperforming mightily in the nonconference compared to the past. No teams really standing out among the pack.

New year and conference play resumes tonight!
Can we finally get the WIAC out of the top 25? :P
Whitewater might be the best team. ;)
I withdraw my first statement and reaffirm the last statement. ;D

Greek Tragedy

Congratulations to the Warhawks. Had I picked a WIAC team to make it to the Final Four, I didn't think it would be Whitewater. Funny how the WIAC conference champ is the upstart/Cinderella team of the Final Four, as mentioned on the front page. Whitewater joins three Top 10, sectional hosts in Fort Wayne. Unfortunately, it will be another year of missing out on the "short" trip to Indiana. I was really excited when they announced the Final Four moving to the Midwest, but for one reason or another, I haven't made it there yet. Hoping to make it one of these years before it moves again!

How the f is this happening???

The Hawks are playing for something bigger than themselves.  They believe in each other and are playing for each other and #DG4.

It's real, it's rare, and it's special. Enjoy it!

Go Warhawks!

I have not been to a UW-W game this year.. Do they have his number sewn onto game uniform?

They wear "DG4" patches.  But deep underneath the jerseys in their hearts is where Derek made his greatest imprints.  Those imprints have knit them together and propelled the whole of who they are to be much greater than a sum of their individual parts.

Dylan Ruder transferring from UWSP after transferring in this past season.  I certainly liked having his size on the team but wasn't given much of an opportunity to show anything.

Greek Tragedy

That's too bad. I know it's probably hard to sit on the bench the whole year, but maybe just be patient and get some minutes next year, especially with a new coaching staff coming in.

Will the Whitewater, Mount Union game be televised?

Oshkosh played decently okay in their matchup with Mount Union, really just didn't shoot it as well as they'd probably like. Got some decent looks just didn't fall on Saturday as they did on Friday in Alliance. And Mount made of couple of difficult threes that basically kept the game in that 7-10 range most of the way. Got it down to 4 at one point, but couldn't get closer.

Another good season for Oshkosh. However, it must sting a little bit that Whitewater went farther.

Kind of feels like the end of a mini era for Oshkosh. The transition from Flynn to Borchert was pretty seamless including their one year together. Having that developed traditional post was pretty much the foundation of their offense. Interesting to see Oshkosh going forward and how their offense evolves now.

According to Mark Miller, Bay Port senior Vince Vandervest (6-4) has committed to NCAA Division III La Crosse. Vanderbest battled injuries his senior season, but still managed to average 10.9 ppg and 4.2 rpg....

Do you have access to the portal?  I haven't seen anything online to Resch or Samuels entering the portal.  I think they are big losses to the future guard position at La Crosse and Platteville.
