Greek Tragedy

I thought the portal was open to the public, although I never really looked.

Maybe it is visible to the public, idk...I haven't been able to see it after checking a little bit though.

Portal is not public... there are sites that track it but it's not comprehensive

Only coaches have access. They can look up any sport's athletes.

6'6" Holmen twins, Reid and Drew Tengblad, have committed to UWRF

Well, that sucks. Whitewater blows a late 20-point 1st half lead and lose 83-79. Whitewater shoots 16-28 FTs, Mount Union shoots 1-18 from 3.

Whitewater ft% did them in.  It was a great run and I'd expect them to be the conference favorite next season.  ???

I suppose you can say that, but Mount Union won despite shooting 1-18 from 3. Whitewater is a better FT shooting team than tonight, but Mount Union shoots the 3 a lot better as well.

Mount also took 21 more shots and had 11 more rebounds.  They could have slowed the pace down more during the Raiders comeback, however, the pace remained high.  Mount were frustrated, but continued their style.  Tough one Greek

This year free throw shooting and surrendering offensive rebounds have been bullets we've been dodging.  Typically one or the other would be a factor we had to overcome and for the most part we've done a pretty good job of it.  BUT when they both happen simotaneously it gets so much more difficult.  Last night was the perfect example. Mount took 21 more shots than us because they had a ridiculous number (24) of offensive rebounds.  Just shy of half of their 50 total rebounds. We simply couldn't keep them off the board.  Despite this we still would only have needed to make 5 of the 12 free throws we missed to be playing tonight.  But we didn't.  Congrats to Mount and good luck.

Regardless, it's been an incredible year.  This team had a lot of heart.  It's been my pleasure to watch it unfold.

Now if we can just add some size.   :)

Lucky for you, no one is playing tonight!  ;D

Even the most optimistic Warhawks fan couldn't have predicted they'd be playing in the Final Four.

Watching the WIAA State tournament,  what players have committed to WIAC schools.

In the D5 have now,  looks like Miitermeyer(sp?) is going to UW Superior. Any word on Huss from McDonell,  he looks like he would be a good WIAC fit, as well as Prey from Newman.

PauldingLightUP

Yep, Prey is uncommitted. I think he would be make good, tough WIAC players. Nice championship game.

Seidel is going to be a good player for CUW.

Not even sure if Krach is trying to play football or basketball in college. My guess would be football.

tomt4525

Prey would be a big get for any WIAC program.  I've seen stuff that makes me believe Point and La Crosse are finalists for him, not sure if there are more schools on his final list though.

Prey's former high school coach is now an assistant at UWSP....for now.
