Here's your update after yesterday... Point has offered the job to Dernbach so if he wants the gig, it's his... Just matter of him making a decision.  (I'm sure McKenzie withdrawing from consideration sped the timeline up a bit?)

Not that I know anything, but if I was the committee, my first thoughts after finding out that Dernbach applied would have been: 1) will he actually make the move) and if yes, 2) how do we make it happen.

I think it made sense to pursue McKenzie, but the committee had to see that as a long shot unless they had the resources to increase the salary substantially from what Coach Semling was earning (around $70-75K if the public databases were correct).

I agree, getting Dern to actually accept now might be tricky. Leave a god situation you built at a great school and now basically restarting the build.

Keep in mind both Kent and I believe his wife are from the Stevens Point area  . . .  their families live just down the road. I certainly hope the university and Coach Dernbach can "close this deal"  . . . I don't know of anyone here that isnt very fond of Kent - both as a coach and as a person!!

WUPHF

That actually makes sense.  In my experience, people do not apply to return to previous employers unless they are very serious candidates.

Former Oconomowoc G and Western Illinois walkon, Jake Fisher, will transfer to Whitewater to play basketball.

Does anyone have a running list of what Recruits/Transfers each school has coming in? It seems like there have been a few commitments over the past week.

Another nice recruit from Kimberly heading to UWO as Seth Miron commits to Matt Lewis and the Titans today.

The last two kids from Kimberly that played at UWO turned out to be pretty nice contributors in Boots and Borchert.
2008-09 and 2012-13 WIAC Fantasy League Champion

2008-09 WIAC Pick'Em Tri-Champion

Agree with his post. Was a big choice between football and basketball to begin with.

He hasn't changed his twitter bio, that's usually the first sign.
