Platteville is doing something similar at football games with Potosi Brewing. They say they will try doing something for basketball. It's another way to raise money.

That is great.  Definitely a way to raise money, but if the fans see the value, definitely a win-win.

I hope I'm jumping the gun with this...but when Mason Prey committed to UWSP, he made posts on social media for the public to see.  Those posts are gone.  This normally has meant that player left the team for whatever reason.  Like I said, really hope this isn't the case for Prey, he's got a bright future

He was in the pictures at the preseason social, which was great to see...but there was plenty of time transpire between the social and now.

Don't think you are jumping the gun, heard from a trusted source that he "quit" the team.

Something I didn't mention that makes me think it's even more odd for Prey to "quit the team"....Prey literally committed to UWSP the morning after Dernbach was announced as coach.  He sure seemed like his mind was made up that he wanted to play for him at that point.

Greek Tragedy

Yeah, that's too bad. As you said, highly recruited. I know Point has a huge class, but you'd think he'd feel pretty good about his chances of, not just making the team, but playing.

UW-Oshkosh enters with a full boat roster of 23. No surprises really from what I see.

La Crosse's roster is updated.  Brayden Ivory from Bryant & Stratton transferred in but all other incoming recruits accounted for.

Coach Dernbach was on the radio this morning.  The most interesting discussion I thought centered around having JV games this year.  I don't know if that's normal but it's certainly good for the players who aren't seeing regular time in the games.  There are 25 players on the roster right now, easily can fill a JV team and get them some minutes with the size of that roster.  Coach also mentioned the fact that not everyone will dress or travel on game days because of it.

In the context of the conversation, it didn't seem to mean anything...but newcomers specifically mentioned included Josiah Butler, Seth Miron, Cal Krohn and Malik Abdul-Wahid.

Pretty sure all levels of D3 are now doing JV games. Helps enrollment and development.

That may be true, but I have listened to most UWSP radio shows for years now....and not once has there been mention of having JV games.  So...that was interesting to me and definitely a positive development for having such a large roster.

Greek Tragedy

Good stuff, Tomt. I hope someone can give a report on tomorrow's Purple/Gold game.

I'll be heading to Madison next week for the Badger game.
