is anyone as jacked about there wiac team this year as I am with Lacrosse's!  I am not making any predictions but I see a place in which this team should finish in the conference and if they don't I will be thoroughly disappointed.  It's time to start asking off for games!

I should hope La Crosse places in the conference.  If they don't, where would they place, out of conference, below 9th place?  ???  ;)

Yeah, I'm definitely pumped for the new WIAC year to start up.  It'll be an interesting year for Point.  I'll have to pass up overtime on Saturdays to see how they do!

Also I know that Shawn Lee should  be back in January.......Don't know if that will help at all or if the team will be set but that is what I have heard

I see the younger Kalsow is playing football. Bet that doesn't sit too well with the bball coach.

I'm sure it has something to do withthe fact that his former HS teammate (Borchart) is the starting QB for Point.

I suspect he wants to win a few games this year so I understand why he plays football.

I'm trying to post for the first time on this new site, what an experience :D
Can't wait for the new season.  I saw a posting of 27 players who will vy for however many spots coach Pat has for UWW.  That is a ton of tryouts, but makes for some good competition.
The rest will have to play intramurals :)

Just like Jerry Lewis helps those with MDA over the Labor Day weekend, I am confident the posters on D3hoops.com will help Titan2000 get his karma points back to the even level before the sesaon begins.

Please give a positive karma point to titan 2000 if you find it in your heart.  You will not get a tax deduction, but you will go on knowing that he will not be a troubled soul, walking the ledge of our apartment and threatening to jump almost daily.

Sinncerely,

The aren't really many open spots.  With the exception of Scoobie and Jason Price WHITEWATER returns everyone from last year's team.  Also Billy Kolinski is returning from an injury that ended his season early last year and Tony Miggins will be back.  Corey Vernon and Kevin Koski are locks to make the team so it's very possible some members of last year's team are going to get a run for their money to make it this year.

Off topic but I think all the wonderful people on this board could offer some advice and help to a FIB.

A friend's son is looking at college.  They are Illinois residents.  The boy is a good swimmer (longer distances) - based on the results of last year's WIAC championship, he would not have to improve much to earn points.  If he went to a WIAC school, how hard is it to qualify for resident tuition?  If not immediately, after a year?  I read the rules and it seems that if you enter as a non-resident, you stay a non-resident - unless you take a year off and live in WIsconsin.

Did the Kalsow boys pay non-resident tuition?

I don't really know anything about establishing residency but you might want to check with some of the schools' admissions departments because at least Platteville has resciprosity with Illinois.  This is an area that's been expanded over the past couple of years so it's possible some of the others may also have it.   I do know that WW isn't one of them however.

At least one of the Kalsow brothers  received Sentry Insurance grant money which reduced his tutition.   Otherwise, it's entirely possible that he would have wore WARHAWK purple for his career.   Funny how those things work out.   ;D

Please don't tell anyone I may have helped a FIB.  ;)

Mr. Downtown

Don't be surprised in the next couple of years Minnesota ends the deal it has with Wisconsin schools for resciprosity. Just because in all reality, Wisconsin students who attend U of Minnesota pay LESS then Minnesota students in tution, because UW-Madison is cheaper in tution then U of M. Weird, eh?

With that being said, I know that the Wisconsin State government is still discussing a deal with Illinois, and Iowa I believe. One day, and it will come sooner then later, a Wisconsin student can go to any school in Minnesota (maybe... :-\), Iowa, and Illionis and pay in-state tution there.

Greek Tragedy

I've heard that if you have a relative in the state, you can claim that as your residency home and thus pay in-state tuition.  Is there any truth to that?  I'm sure if it's true, you might have to "live" at that residence for a certain amount of time.  That, or I may just be talking out of my, well...you know.  ???

I know someone who knows someone that used to live outside of Milwaukee, then moved to Milwaukee but kept his mailing address outside of Milwaukee so his car insurance would not sky rocket with a resident mailing address in Milwaukee...I guess if you live with your parents outside of Wisconsin, but have an uncle that lives in Wisconsin, you could technically say you live with him and then get in-state tuition.  Not that I'm condoning that or anything!  :o

I don't know...I'll stop now before I get into trouble or get anyone else into trouble.   ::)

Jason Price left WHITEWATER and transfered to a junior college.

Bob Snelling has had the interim tag removed from his title and was officially named UW-Stevens Point's men's basketball coach.
