To PS: You are right and have a great team. However, you should not get overconfident. A long way to go! As to RF: How serously hurt is Robertson, who I feel is the newcomer of the Year? AS to UWW: Why is Anderson not playing more? Is Mike Toeller in the Doghouse?  Just asking and God Bless!

I would hope fred falcon or someone would tell me of Robertson's status sooner than the 1/2 hour I got on Wednesday! lol  ;D...

I don't think Toellner is in the dog house at all.  Miller seems to be tinkering with his lineup all the time.  There was an English Premier League manager that the fans called, "The Tinker Man" because he changed his lineups constantly.  He's no longer in the EPL and his name has slipped my mind, though I know who he is.

Miller has had 10 different players in his starting lineup...with Dustin Mitchell now filling in Rob Perry's spot (though he didn't always start, which amazed me).  SIX players average between 20-22 minutes (including Rob Perry who is now out), and Mlachnik leads the team averaging 26+ minutes a game.  Four other players average double-digit minutes.  So, in essence, Miller has a 10-man rotation (with Perry not included).

I don't know enough about Anderson to comment on his playing time, or lack thereof.

Mr. Downtown

Toellner, not so sure about.

Anderson I've heard from the Whitewater radio guys that he's in the dog house.

I was going to argue this point with Nick Bennett, but he hardly had what some would call, "a pure shot"...he just had such a quick release.

You should've introduced yourself to Swampgoon and I.

Nick is what I would call an instinctive or crafty player.  Wasn't the biggest, fastest, etc., but got his points off the offense and instinctive "basketball" plays.  If you left him open, you paid for it.

I got to the game a little late that night.  I had to finish my dinner and pre-game drink...Long Island Iced Tea  ;D

Back to hoops... we may have discussed this earlier on this board, but since the comparison was made again between Bennett and Rortvedt, I'll toss out two questions just for discussion's sake =

1) Who would you rather have at the free throw line with the game on the line?
2) Who is better defensively?

Oh, and PSuperfan's comments about Point playing soft physically? I can understand that comment; that's not to suggest they were not aggressive and intense on D, because they were, and have a few championships to show for their style of play, which was smart basketball, and positioning...

1) Nick without a doubt...he's been there before, if you know what I mean.  Until PR can knock down that crucial FT in the tourney, Nick is the man.
2) I was so amazed at his shooting ability I didn't really pay attention to his defensive capabilities.  I don't really even know who he was guarding, if it was Lohoff, Shaw or who.  IMO I don't think that Bennett was a stellar defensive player.  He was good enough, but he wasn't going to be the shut down guy.

Point attacked the passing lanes, had good ball pressure and got their hands on some passes...(I almost said balls), other than that they really packed it in.  Platteville offense isn't one to get quick shots, but there is a ton of screens to work through if you're playing defense.

ItIsWhatItIs

Anderson never really took his game to another level since joining the team. Now as a senior, he has a reduced role on a team that I think he could help.   All the different line-ups suggests that this coaching staff does not have a feel for this team, at least not a feel for what it will take to make them better.  I had been trying to convey my concern about this team and there direction since the beginning of the season, I think most can see why now. This campaign has been a disappoint and yet, it can possibly get worse with 3 road games coming up.  So much for..."at the end, UWW will be near the top".  Sometimes it is what it is.

Mr. Downtown

For Oshkosh and Superior fans

Believe it or not, 90.3 WRST-FM will be making the trip to Superior to broadcast both Men's and Women's basketball games.

I'll have the call for the women's game, TitansRus will have the call for the men's.

you can listen to the stream by visiting this link: www.uwosh.edu/wrst

Superior peeps,

Is there anything to do in Superior? Any good places to eat? Or should we just keep on hiking up north to Duluth  :D

Robertson probably will play some vs. Point. The coach thought he MIGHT play vs. Lax, but did not. He has a high ankle sprain.

Thanks FF...I'll stick with a 3-guard lineup and hope Messner and Gibson can get me the needed rebounds and blocks.  :D

I need a Stout Update. How are they playing lately? They appear to be a free flight downward, but they do have talent! Positive Karma to Downtown and Fred Falcon for the good info and service. This is why this is a good site. God Bless!

Greek Tragedy

Personally, I think Stout can be a good team.  There are times when they play well together, but other times they just seem to stand around waiting for someone else to do the work.  At the Whitewater game, Enerson-Matthews was unstoppable and Jacob Nonemacher played well before fouling out.  I think Heisler is a solid inside presence and Clopton can be a good player if he doesn't cough the ball up every other possession.  I also think Jeremiah Randle should be
playing more and be part of the offense a little more as well.  Like I said, I think they have good talent, but have problems playing as a team.

It seems that playing both Nonemachers isn't working and after they both start, they rarely play at the same time.  It wouldn't be out of the question to possibly start Randle and go with a 3-guard lineup, or Enerson-Matthews could actually be a small forward/shooting guard with Nonemacher and Heisler in there, along with Clopton running things.

chmarx

Brian Carroll and I will be in Eau Claire for the game Saturday.  If anyone here will attend and wants to meet us, I am six feet, 285 pounds with greyish brown hair and a full beard.  Brian is a shade shorter and more normally built, with brown hair and clean-shaven.  We will have his young nephew with us.

I am not certain that chmarx is taller than I am. We'll check that out. His weight is OK, but he's several inches shorter than he should be.

I always find it easier to describe WHAT you're wearing, not what you look like, IMO.  Someone who is wearing a NY Rangers jacket and a Pointer hat is easier to spot in a crowd than someone who is a 5'3", 110 lb. Asian...oh ok, maybe not.  ;D :D

Did you ever think of asking TVD about going hunting with him? Judging from your posts it sounds like you would really like to go with.  The only problem I would see is two people would go out and only one would come back

Hey, Mr. Bigshot Mayor.  Where in the heck were you Wed. night?  Mesh and I were at the RF/La Crosse game (great game) and no Fredfalcon.  We had to buy our own beer at Steve's Pizza but then, now that I think of it, we would have had to buy it even if you were there, wouldn't we?
