Two teams would be nice, and is very probable. I'd love to see three times in, if at all possible. But it takes a mathematician to figure out all that stuff. Ha.  ;)

Unfortunately, though, if it ends up like the football parings did, when UWL-UWW squared off last fall, and in the past, we'll have one WIAC team knocking out another. Thank stinks... But whatever...

All you dreams have come true .... the smarter and better looking twin is posting too.

I have loved playing in the WIAC and now am ready to voice my opinions.

Now is there a trick to getting stoutguy to pay for a round of drinks,  my own mother has brought him beer from lands far far away and all i want is a Miller Lite and the Ale House
You are only as good as the people around you.

I have heard fred falcon and stoutguy can out fumble anyone when it comes to buying. You may have a little better luck with BDB.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Welcome aboard Blue Devil Shot Blocker and survivor.

Any tips for the Titans on how to slow down Warner as good as you guys did last night? Holding Joe to 7 points is pretty good.

Last regional rankings before Sunday...

West Region
1. UW-Stevens Point 22-2 21-1
2. St. Thomas 22-3 22-3

3. St. John’s 19-6 19-3]
4. UW-Oshkosh 20-5 17-5
5. Occidental 17-5 12-3
6. Whitworth 22-3 19-3
7. Loras 19-6 17-4

8. UW-La Crosse 17-7 15-6

I do believe the WIAC will get two teams in (Oskosh is as close a lock as you can get) with a 50/50 chance of getting three.  Lax seems to be in the same boat they were in last year, if the teams with lines through them win the AQ, it would be tuff to deny Lax. A win on Thursday would really help.

My unqualified opinion is that LX would have to win out to be the 3rd WIAC rep. But would that leave Oshkosh on the outside looking in?? Being a Point (and WIAC) fan I guess I'm prejudiced for our teams and don't believe that many of the other west region leagues have the quality of teams that we do. My point? Unless there are some upsets in other league tourneys to lower rated teams, WIAC only gets 2 spots.

Okay, okay, I'll buy a round of drinks at the Ale House sometime.  Janesvilleflash, you quit being such a smarty pants or you will not be invited.

... Depending what you mean by lowering rated teams, this could actually have the OPPOSITE effect...  Knocking off a Pool C lock would create fewer spots for WIAC runner(s) up.  The only way this would really be beneficial to WIAC teams is if the rated is NOT the conference favorite (in most cases not the conference champ).  By knocking down a peg or two the conference runners up of other conference it would leave everyone on the same standing... because the non-winners of the WIAC tournament would incur an additional loss and a deduction in QOWI.

Gibbons has to be "let go."  If he is allowed to stay with the EC program the AD needs a head scan.  I missed the glory days when people would show up 2 hours before the game and the Zorn was a tuff place to play.  Now it's a cakewalk, nobody fears EC, it's a W on the schedule.  If it's true that someone like Jack Bennet wants the job, you have to take it.

Even the EC media is showing some signs of disinterest with the EC mens program.  The game versus Point was not even on the regular radio station.  Instead they had some HS hockey game.  Also, the EC television station had Stout-Lax highlights before they showed the highlights of the EC game.  Both of these would never have happened in the past.  Yet another sign of how the program has fallen.

Sorry kek, I will not be giving away my trade secrets as of yet.  When a WIAC team wins the National Title this year then maybe.

Yes stoutguy will buy drinks ( i will confirm when and if it happens)

Back in the day when I first came to stout our games were double headers with EC.  the crowds and games were amazing.  30 min to tip off the stands were 3/4 full and students were in force talking to opposing players.  Husbands and Wives chose sides and all week people would talk to you in the community about how much they did not like the other school.

Now Zorn is half full and feels the same as other games,  the Johnson is also the same as all other games.  It is something i missed the last two years. BRING IT BACK

You are only as good as the people around you.

... Do past National Titles work...?  Point's got two, Platteville 4, and Whitewater another two to cash in... Point's still probably using their two, as there are still players who played on those teams currently playing, but Platteville and Whitewater could spare a couple...!

Greek Tragedy

welcome stout survivor (John?) and BDshotblocker (Jacob?)...

I think La Crosse needs to win out.  I'm pretty sure Oshkosh is in.  More later...

If Point hosts, I know people who know people and may be able to get you tickets for the final, but I'd have to know by game time or right after, as I'd have to stand in line to get tickets right away.  Send me an email (since you can't send messages yet! lol )...

I meant like a 6 beating a 3 or something of the like lowering the QOWI of the teams above them. If I understand it correctly then #2 would lose points if that lowered #3 (to below .667) to the next lower winning pct and would not gain as many by beating a #6 (below .500).

frodotwo

I forgot to finish....then La Crosse would benefit by beating a .667 at home and a .667 on the road which could put them above another similar Pool C.

UWPSUPERFAN77

In looking at the box scores and the posts, I have a few observations: I am glad this tournament is meant for the players. With the poor attendance how is our conference make any money? Remember the conference gets the gate. i know the students have to pay, but this is still cheap entertainment. All games were close in the first half, 3 of the games came down to the final minutes. Great BB but do the fans care? God Bless!
