Superior just got their 3rd committment from a Top 50 Wisconsin HS Senior.   Greg Roeder from Mercer picked Superior over numerous D2 schools, including powerhouse Winona St.  Roeder joins fellow "top 50" players in Rhinelander's Jake Smith and Altoona's Shane Manor at Superior.

It looks like Superior's coaching staff is really making strides and putting a lot of effort in on their recruiting.

I thought it was a good hire and they should make strides in the wiac in the years to come.

Should make for some interesting games with River rising as well.

Rice Lake senior Dan Culy announced he would be playing collegiate basketball for the Yellowjackets.

Ranked No. 25 among state seniors by Wishoops.net, Culy is the fourth Top 50 player to give second-year Superior coach Dave Buchanan a commitment to play for the Yellowjackets next season.

P-ville's website is reporting that Alex Zwart a 6'6" forward from Monona Grove will attend UWP next year.  He joins Nick Allen from Barneveld.  My exposure to high school hoops has been lacking lately does anyone know about these two players?

Is Allen the kid from Barneveld that made the 70 foot shot in one of the early seasons tournaments played in Madison.  ?  It made the national media, ESPN etc.   If so it looks like he's got good range.  ;)

Wow. That is impressive. I'm not familiar with Shane Manor but I would expect Jake Smith to contribute as a freshman. He has probably faced the toughest competition of the three in high school. Having lived in Mercer for a while I can say that Roeder may need a year or two as their strength of schedule isn't that much to talk about.

Beloit is dead in my eyes having turned to the dark side by becoming Ripon-Southern. Although I'll still support their other athletic programs when I have the chance. "Americas Team" is now UW-Stevens Point. Don't schedule the big dogs when your conference goes 0-11.
