It's not much, but I checked the Packers website to see anything on Joe Werner, and this is what I found.

Like I said not much...but I thought some may like to see it.

Stout survivor

When will his jersey go on sale? ... He could not play for a better pro team then the pack (god bless the packers)

Good luck to him
You are only as good as the people around you.

When does your European team jersey go on sale, John?

Whitewater's schedule has been released.

Whitewater

The 07-08 Whitewater schedule lists a home game on 1/2/08 vs Central College.

I believe that s/b NORTH Central College of the CCIW.

UWW played in NCC's season opening tourney 2 yrs ago.
It seems the schools have signed a home and home contract with the Cardinals visiting Whitewater this season and UWW traveling (2 hours) to Naperville the following year.

Blue Devil recruits, announced Wednesday, include a D1 transfer, a 7-footer returning to Stout after he'd transfered, some junior college transfers and lots of guards...

Guard Miles Webb, a native of Brooklyn Park, Minn, and the school's all-time leading scorer, had been recruited by the University of Minnesota. He spent two seasons at a junior college and last season at the University of Idaho...

Center Jesse Piehl, who played for the Blue Devils in 2005-06, returns, having spent last season at Gogebic Community College in Michigan.

Four other guards and two forwards round out the class. They include:

Jarrad Knutson, from Glenville-Emmons HS in Minnesota. He had 11.6 rpg and scored 23.3 ppg last season and is the school's all-time top scorer...

Jamal Khan, from Park Center HS in Minnesota averaged 16 ppg and 7 apg, and was an honorable mention all-state selection.

A point guard, Alex Mason, Humboldt HS, comes to Stout as an all-conference selection from Mesabi Community College; he led his team in steals and assists.

A shooter, Jerrod Buchholtz, Durand, spent a semester at Viterbo University, then transfered to Stout during the winter semester, but didn't play hoops. He averaged 19 ppg, 9 rpg, 5 apg and 4 steals per game...

Forwards - and teammates at Iowa Lakes Community College - Cory Bell (15 ppg, 11 rpg there) and John Donald (injured last season, averaged 15 ppg and 6 rpg his freshman season) complete the list.

I was at the Packer's Family night and I got to see #47 in some action.  Joe did pretty good in the drills.  It would have been fun to see him on the field with #4 and catch a TD pass and then dunk it over the uprights before doing the Lambeau Leap.

Old School -
Great clip! Over the cart, just like I showed him how to do it. Ha. I wish...

WEAU TV13 had a clip on Werner tonight... Don't see a link posted to it yet, though. Check the Sport Scene Sunday section...

I, too was at the Packer family night with my son.  It was fun seeing Werner on the field and in the training camp guide.  Unfortunately, they never threw a pass in his direction.

I wish him well, but it would be amazing if he made the team.

I was relaxing at home tonight watching a little HBO Hard Knocks: Kansas City Chiefs at the UWRF training camp and all of a sudden the one and only "Fred Falcon" pops up on the screen telling the HBO producers he's the mayor of River Falls. If that is not a true Wisconsin celebrity, I don't know what it is. Congrats on your 15 seconds of national fame DR!

The Badgers also have an exhibition scheduled vs Edgewood College on Nov. 4.

Bo Ryan:
"I really enjoy being able to play schools from our area during the exhibition season. I have tremendous respect for both Coach Adrian and Coach Gibbons. I know both games will be well-played and great learning opportunities for our players."

Funny, I guess Winona State must not be part of Bo Ryan's definition of "our" area.  ;)
