You actually can play 25 plus an exhibition now.

Ah, good to know!

Not to mention that a lot of small schools are playing D1 opponents in December/January during the break to tune up for games after the break. Plus a nice paycheck from the D1's. So I wouldn't think it would be a bad move for UWSP to play a D1 while out in California.

I don't know that this is something Point has looked into... I know that over the break last year, they had two DII's scheduled, but, to my knowledge, those didn't involve a paycheck (in fact, one didn't even end up involving an actual game...  the game against Regis in Denver was cancelled due to the storm in CO last year.  Guess that's why they chose a warmer climate this year!)

I guess it is always a possibility, but I haven't seen anything on the Point schedule, and I would have thought that would be something they'd want to publicize.

Scheduling a game vs. a D2 opponent and scheduling an exibition/scrimmage vs. a D1 opponent are two different things.  I'm buessing there isn't any D2 opponent that is actually going to pay us (any D3 team) to come and in and play them.  Of course, playing a D1 opponent doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a midseason exibition/scrimmage! lol ;D

And your right, I'd think if Point scheduled an exibition/scrimmage, they'd want to publicize it and if it were a REAL game, it'd be required! :P

WIAC/CCIW Games 2007

Oshkosh
Nov. 28   Elmhurst College (Ill.)
Dec. 15   Augustana College (Ill.)

UW-W
Possibly North Park in Tip-Off Tourny
Jan. 2  North Central

La Crosse
Nov. 28  Augustana

Point
Dec. 22  Augustana

Just to see about my WIAC/CCIW Challange idea, if it would hold water this year....... doesn't look like it would

I don't think Augustana would mind giving up at least one WIAC game to......ummm.........let's just pick a team out of the hat, Wheaton (April ;))

UW-Stevens Point has a new athletics web site:

http://athletics.uwsp.edu/

I like the look... but I can't find seasons older than two years ago... I sure hope they upload those box scores and game stories!

I'm guessing those are coming in the near future.  If you take a look at the football page, they have "Past Seasons" going back to 1998.  I would guess the fall sports were the first priority.

So true Just Bill!  What football's got up is what they used to have on the old website... which probably will show up at some point.  I can be patient!

EDIT:  Through the Backcourt club link, it's got much if not all of the info off the old site

Any LAX fans on thisboard?

If so, have you heard anything about Vehantre Brown playing for you this season. That was hinted at on the MWC board.

In addition to UW-Stout during the regular season, UW-LaCrosse will play D2 Winona State in an exhibition game.

Quote...A year after playing three NCAA Division I opponents, the Warriors have lined up exhibition games against

UW-La Crosse and Grinnell (Iowa) for this season.

WSU will face UW-L at 8 p.m. Nov. 1 and Grinnell at 11 a.m. Nov. 3...
