Jim Strick takes a position at Minnesota after being UWSP's SID since 1999.  Minnesota is getting a GREAT guy who has helped to promote UWSP athletics for quite some time.  Point is a better place because he was there and we'll miss him!!

Historian,

There is clearly more to this story then you have related to us.  Pat works hard to preserve his own copyrights and those of other people.  I recommend we wait for the complete story before passing judgement.  Until then....

Pat has already presented more of the story in the appropriate forum (NESCAC).  That is where the discussion occurred before 'The Historian' decided to spam every board on d3hoops.com.

Seriously, was there a need to post that on every single board?    That's pretty childish and absurd.  If anything, the Historian should be banned for spamming.

Apparently, his message was removed.

Good riddance.

It will be interesting to see if Augustana's summer tour will help them.  They will be a tough team for the WIAC this year.

Just like they were last year.

Swampgoon told me over the weekend that he knows that Jared Jenkins, basketball recruit, AND Chris Dorner (recruit who has had a Sports Hernia problem) are both playing football.  The Pointer locals probably already know this, but I didn't.  My point is that it obviously looks like Chris Dorner's Sports Hernia is in the past and that bolsters Point's inside game considerably, assuming he's been keeping up with his basketball skills as well! lol :-)  The tight end comes in at a robust 6'6" 275 lbs.  Jenkins is 2nd in rushing for the Pointers, while ex-basketball player (for a year) Brad Kalsow leads the team in receiving.

Any news from any of the WIAC camps now that practice (theoretically) has started?

Notta in WW, but I'm sure there will be 800 players trying out for 799 spots on the team (maybe wittled down to 15 by November).

LOL.  ;D

I swear, Lawrence carries about 25.  I was at the LU/Carroll game down in Waukesha and LU's bench wrapped around half way down the baseline.  :D

Grinnell was the first thing that popped into my mind after reading OS's last post.   I've seen them play twice in Beloit and both times they had plenty of substitutes.

Just kidding, there isn't that many this year as apposed to last.  Haven't seen many fo the players around Williams Center.  Rob Perry looks to be healthy after off-season surgery, there is a lot of size on this team (the transfers I don't have the names but they look big).  I won't make it to midnight madness.  Guard play may be questionable, I have not seen what's Price in practice (might be gone, but who knows).  With a lot graduated from last years team, could be a suprise this year, but a good core back (Vernon, Perry, Mitchell, and a slew of bench players who will get a shot).
