Not Wednesday, just Saturday.  Have to coach 5th and 6th grade Wednesday and then that darn Men's League

Greek Tragedy

One of these Wednesdays when Point isn't playing West of Stevens Point and Oshkosh or Whitewater isn't at home (i.e., Four of La Crosse, Stout, River Falls, Eau Claire, Superior and Platteville are hosting) I'll come and laugh, I mean, cheer you on! lol  :D ;D If you need a sub, I got mad hops.  None of that may be true, but you gotta find a new league that doesn't play on Wednesdays!  You'll have to check out the MWC schedule...mark the date when Grinnell comes to Appleton to play Lawrence!

The major rule change (and/or modifacation) this year in D3 basketball is the bench decorum rule for coaches.  No swearing and no running up and down the sideline waving one's arms.  Coaches know the new rule, as do the media and SIDs.  The rule was throroughly explained at WIAC Media Day prior to the season.  Be prepared because you are going to see more such T's called as the WIAC season goes on.

Perhaps. Or it could be the carrying rule all over again. Last season's NCAA "point of emphasis" for officials was the carrying rule. Officials were supposed to more closely monitor dribblers to ensure that none of them were bringing the dribbling hand underneath the ball and taking it over the top before pushing the ball downward. That lasted for a few weeks, as people all over Posting Up commented early in the season about the significant increase in carrying calls. Then it tapered off, as officials went back to calling the game more or less the way that they'd always called it.

HAHAHAHAHA...He pretty much throws Lithuania under the bus!  Not one to be politically correct.  I sure hope no one over there translates and sees this article.  He'll get booed from everyone there.  A good and entertaining read.

"I hate Lithuania but it's a start to a career."

"The people in general don't speak English very well, and English is a universal language. Their food is off the wall, their time [zone] here sucks, and I'm going to bed when you start drinking."

Wow. Talk about the stereotypical "ugly American" abroad.

BDShotblocker, I see Joe Werner and his wife, Katie at quite a few games.  I would assume he is in graduate school.

Thanks for the concern about my Karma, Fredfalcon.  I shot some your way in gratitude.  The negative karma is cumulative from my days when I posted on the football board as well.  I think I got a bit snippy with some trollers over there.

After the big upset against Concordia, we looked weak against St. Thomas.  I think La Crosse will struggle against teams that are strong inside, since we don't have much going on the front line this year.  Be interesting if we can play with Point.

OS, are you coming to La Crosse Wednesday?  If so, let me know.  Maybe Brian and I can join you for dinner or something.

The people in Lithuania don't speak English!  What a frickin' shock!  Does George Bush know about this?

Dear Kerry Gibson,
It's not the job of 3.5 million Lithuanians to learn English. It's the one idiot American's job to learn Lithuanian.

Dear Kerry,  Lithuania wanted a better time zone but they were all taken.

Dear Kerry, Sorry our beer sucks...

Anyway, honestly, why would you delete the post that had a link to that article?  I thought it was entertaining! lol :-)  He was just being honest.  I tried to find it on the internet so I could read it again, but "the story could not be found" disappointed in that.

I didn't delete it.

I suspect CIA involvement.

It was an interesting article.  There are times to be honest and times to just say I'm happy to be given the opprotunity to play.  I don't know that he really even sounds happy to be playing..regardless if it is in Lithuania.

I've never met K. Gibson, but I would guess that he wasn't being completely serious with his answers.  It appears to me that he was being interviewed by a former UWO classmate/acquaintance/friend, and was attempting to overexaggerate his troubles and dislike of the country to be funny.

I would hypothesize that if the same questions were given by someone from the MJS or Oshkosh Northwestern, rather than the UWO student newspaper, his replies would have been much more formal.

Mr_Downtown

I can understand if Whitewater makes a huge jump in the polls, but Oshkosh is still not getting enough love.

Seriously, the SID's cannot possibly think La Crosse is the third best team in the WIAC?

Maybe 5th, mayyyybbbbeeee 5th.

If Oshkosh beats Whitewater this Wednesday, do they get to jump into the top 15??

I said something like that in the Top 25 board.  They beat Elmhurst (#13) and they get a total of 12 votes.  I was also surprised that Point didn't drop further.
