laxeagles1, not to be critical of your posting techniques, but try to be more selective when "quoting."  All because you quote something doesn't mean you have to quote the entire post.  You can delete the majority of it and just keep the subject matter on what you are responding to.  I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but you tend to quote a whole post even though you are only responding to a small portion of it.  Sorry if you take this the wrong way.   ::)

a-hole, if that's what you want fine with me!  ;D

No doubt.................NAIA Div II schools can compete with a lot of teams in the country at the NCAA Div III level and even at the NCAA Div II level.  But specifically a role player at Stritch or other NAIA Div II schools...................No sure about that!

i should have said he is a starter this year not a role player.........my bad on that, last year he was a role player

badgerwarhawk and playdefense,

You know doubt have the "WIAC rosey glasses on". True, I think the WIAC is one of the best in the nation for D3, but your generalizing when it comes to comparing Cardinal Stritch to rest of NAIA II. This argument belongs elsewhere, but I have first-hand knowledge of the quality of NAIA programs and it's ridiculous to think those players could not compete at the highest levels in D3 and in the WIAC, specifically. We try to make it look like we are high and mighty in the WIAC (with championships to prove it), but we are talking about non-scholarship athletes. There is no doubt many NAIA II teams would compete for the conference championship year-in, year-out. I can think of several teams off the top of my head that could be compared to Lawrence (or even some of our top conference teams), so please don't ever say D3 has superior teams or athletes, it's a down-right lie. I believe it's closer than most people want to think (now, the lower teams are another story, but the top teams there's no question).

Pioneer,
I specifically referred to Cardinal Stritch and openly said I don't know NAIA D2 at all.  What part of that didn't you understand?  The only comparison to NAIA D2 that I made was Cardinal Stritch and the WIAC.  I even qualified it to say at the present time.  And I stand by it.  It doesn't take WIAC rosey red glasses to know that Cardinal Stritch can't compete in the WIAC.  Cardinal Stritch can complete with Maranatha Baptist not the WIAC.

WARHAWKS take LaCrosse 63-57.  After losing their 29-23 half time lead and seeing LaCrosse go up 34-33 with 12:31 left the HAWKS went on a 10-0 run to regain a lead they wouldn't surrender again.  Jeremy Manchester led all scorers with with 21 points.  He also had 8 rebounds.  Anthony Mlachnik added 15 points and Rob Perry contributed 12 points to round out double figure scorers for the WARHAWKS.  Joe Werner led four Eagle double figure scorers with 16 points.  Werner also had 12 rebounds.  Bench scoring was a big factor with the HAWKS bench outscoring LaCrosse's 19-6.

Now we get the bye on Saturday and await Point for our first home game next Wednesday.

Pointers "nip" Oshkosh 74-61. Defense is the name of the game as the Pointers run away from the Titans. Jahnke was an early factor. but defense by Hicklin took him out of the game with D. Gibson was stoned early and had some points late, but too little, too late. Point's passing game was awesome tonight, with crisp cuts to the basket resulting in layups or free throws (23 of 26 for the game). Hicklin with 21 and 3 others in double figures. Oshkosh just looked slow tonight, with Hicklin and El Amin blowing by for layups or passes for open looks. I hate to say "over rated" because Oshy has a lot of talent, but defense wins championships and the Pointers had the better D tonight. I think the Lakeland game was a great effort by the Muskies and not indicative of the Pointers best game. It is a long season, but it's off to a promising start!! I guess I underestimated when I predicted (guessed) the Pointers to win by 2. I need to checked Powerball, maybe I picked the winner there too! ;D

Our friend BW has provided a fair summary of tonight's WW-LC game. It was an aggravating loss for the Eagles, as some sloppy offensive possessions prevented us from winning a game we could have won. Congrats to WW on a good effort.                            On a more positive note, it should be stated that the talent level on the Eagles' side is comparable to that on the Warhawk side. This bodes well for the future. Now, we just need to learn to win the close ones against WIAC opponents.

Wow...what a disappointing loss in Platteville.  To the Platteville announcers....SHUT UP!....broadcast the game, and keep your personal opinion of Chris Martin bottled up.  Not once, or twice or three times, but atleast 5 times they referred to him as a "dirty Player," and also they said Chris martin is leading Elmhurst in scoring, but isn't being a leader, and he's playing the game the way it's not supposed to be played.  Also, at the end of the game Chris Ihlenfeldt fouled a kid right as the clock expired, they said "I'm disgusted by that act by Chris I." Come on!!!  It's the end of the game, players are rushing to foul, and probably hit somebody hard, everybody has seen it!  my advice to UW-Platteville would be to get some announcers that know an ounce about the game, and keep their mouths shut about the players.  What a devastating loss to foul when the shot had zero chance of going in!  Back in the gym for Hanover...wow

Great recap of Point-Oshkosh, frodotwo.  With about 8 minutes left in the first half, the fire alarms started sounding.  The game was stopped and the Quandt was emptied.  This was not a false alarm and the problem was quickly taken care of.  After about a half an hour delay, fans were let back in from the cold and the teams warmed up briefly before the game resumed.  Fortunately for the Pointers, the break in the game didn't change the momentum and they actually built on their 21-9 lead.

UWSP displayed great passing, unselfish team play, and committed only 6 turnovers.  They were outrebound by a taller Oskosh team by only 6.  If there was any negative in their play tonight, albeit a small one, it was that they failed to knock down some open shots, including a breakaway layup.

If UWSP can play at or even close to the level they played at tonight, it should be another great season.  But this is only 1 game and their's 15 more grueling WIAC games to go.  But they sure didn't "pass the torch" tonight as someone earlier speculated.

Nochoresmartin11,

Were you at the game?  If not, then how on earth can you make any judgement about if Martin was playing dirty or not?  You may know him (I'm only guessing because of your screen name) but you can only speculate as to his play on this particular evening.  The announcers said many times that it was a very physical game and that the referees didn't seem to have much control on the game (that it was getting out of hand).  Martin is a physical player.  Refs who let everyone get away with physical play make those players who are NORMALLY physical, even more so.  Even to the point of playing dirty.

I think you seem to forget that you were listening to Platteville students, announcing a Platteville game.  This is not a national broadcast to a neutral audience... it is on a school radio station to an audience that is rooting for Platteville.  You're naive if you think that hometown announcers aren't pulling for the home team, and they'll call it like they see it, even if, like this case, they're seeing the game through orange and blue glasses.

This is a good win for Platteville against a good team with a great player.  They seemingly had the game in hand but almost lost it in the end due to costly mistakes (you simply DON'T get up in another player's face when the game is on the line like that).  Platteville doesn't have much time to celebrate, though... they've got a tough game coming up at Stout against a Blue Devil team that wiped the floor with Eau Claire tonight.

Oh, random facts... UWSP's win over Oshkosh is the Pointer's 7th win in the last 8 games against the Titans and 9th out of 11.  It also runs UWSP's home win streak to 24 games.

yes, and at some point somebody needs to instruct this "announcers," that you can just talk trash about a player on the other team for about a minute straight.  Dont' tell me they didn't call him a dirty player about 5 times, and also the "disgusting act" by Christ Ihlenfeldt supposedly at the end of the game as time expired..that's all I'm saying, is that you are supposed to have some tact as well....
