For the first time all year, someone made Matty look like a SG playing PG. Shea made Miller skitish in the second half, which led to more turnovers than usual.
Three turnovers in 43 minutes doesn't seem too bad to me..... ::)

Quote from: OshDude on February 06, 2008, 11:01:01 PMFofana and the rest of the bench were really impressive
Did the bench do some things that just don't show up in the box score?  The only reson I ask, is outside of Fofana, the numbers the EC bench put up aren't that much different that UWO's bench numbers, and we all know UWO's bench isn't too strong.

Were you there? Miller was shaky with the ball when pressured. Hard to dispute that if you ask me. DJ, Schrimpf or JJ brought the ball up quite a few times, only to hand it off to Miller in the front court.

The bench for EC was solid. No, most of it didn't show in the box score, but the runs EC had were in no small part thanks to solid bench minutes on both ends.

So, the computer say's I'm wrong.   :D ;D

Don't be too quick to apologize!

pabegg is working from his understanding of the new OWP/OOWP rules (and I doubt he is including all the other primary criteria for pool C selection).  We're all eager to see (probably no one more so than pabegg himself!) how accurately these computations do end up predicting the selection committee.  My sense would be that they are almost certainly the best we've currently got; but perfect? doubtful.

TGHIJGSTO!!!

Mr. Downtown

Is it just me, or were there a lot of East Coast teams in the tournament last year?

I think this season the West and Midwest Regions have demonstrated that with tough conference play and the combination of playing some of the Best teams that regions have to offer, that they should get more consideration for it.

Which, if they do, I think the West region would benefit from that point of view, and the WIAC conference reaps some of those benefits. But because this region has conference that are so tough that upsets are bound to happen.

I'll stand to my opinions for the West and Midwest Regions. I also know that a lot is going to change when conference tourney's start.

They should also thank UWO's bench in part for their first run.....

UWO was up by 10 when DSA, Schrimpf, and Miller went to the bench for a rest.  Next thing you know, 2:30 later the lead is down to three.  Timeout UWO, and the starters return and get the lead back up to 13 at the half.

There are a lot of East Coast teams in general. The Northeast region is the largest in Division III basketball.

Exactly.  The old QOWI took no account at all of (true) strength of schedule - just opponents' winning % (regardless of who they played).  With the addition of OOWP (opponents' opponents' winning %), those of us in such conferences as the WIAC and CCIW are hoping it will make a difference.

I suspect it will to a degree, but I also predict that at least 2 top-25 teams will be turning in their unis after Selection Sunday.  (And that at least one of them will be from the WIAC or CCIW.)

Saw Pat's comment before hitting 'post'.  Totally correct, but they also had some real advantages under QOWI that will (hopefully) by less so with OWP/OOWP.

Can anyone tell me where to go to find out the broadcast schedule of WIAC games on FSN? I know Charter has some on demand but I was looking for the FSN Schedule.

Thanks in advance.

My mistake I didn't look on the home page only the BBall page. Thanks.

Why didn't Jerrel Enerson-Matthews play hardly at all in the second half last night? He seemed to be the only one that was on for Stout in the first half.

frodotwo

About 50 seconds into the second half E-M was driving and came down awkwardly when fouled and hurt his knee. It didn't look good as trainers and the Pointer Orthopedic surgeon had to basically carry him to the locker room. He was basically the game for Stout up until that point. What his status is now I don't know and haven't heard, hope it is just a sprain and not something worse.

Greek Tragedy

some of you may not check the updates board, but LX is beating PL 59-56 with 1:55 to play.

Platte pulls it off 78-77, Kegler tipped the ball in at the buzzer to cut three point lead to one.

LaX had plenty of chances... a missed FT with 19 seconds could have forced Platte to hit a three to tie... but it wasnt' so.

In the first OT, LaX jumped out to a 4 point lead but couldn't hold it.
