Hey, I'm just glad that nobody in here was dissing Anthony Simmons. We'd have to hold you back with a police cordon if that happened.   ;)

You got that right Greg!  Besides, the people up at Oshkosh already know what kind of player Simmons is after the Clarke tournament last year and whoever traveled with Whitewater this year found out.  It's all in fun & love, no disrespect to any of the fine programs in the WIAC.  I know what this league has accomplished over the years.   :) :) :)   I have nothing but respect...

Maybe this year dude.

Like I said...

Actually, I did know that Adam Dauksas was on there too.  I just didn't feel like listing everyone and their mom.  :o  I guess the WIAC can't have the best player in the nation every year! lol ;D

Greg, maybe "talking like a sausage" is a compliment!  ???

Hey, what the heck is going on here?  I just get home and look on the board to find that I am buying a Pointer dinner.  Bob, what if Point kicks our butt and we are in no mood??
By the way, you Pointer fans might be interested to hear what your old boy Jack Bennett has to say about the WIAC conference this year.  He will be a guest on our radio show on Sat.  He will be on in the 9:00 slot.  Just jump on WMEQ.com and click on "Listen Live" on your internet.  You Platteville guys might want to listen in as well as Ed Andrist will be talking about the Stout/Platteville matchup.  You Platteville guys are not going to be going up against the best player in the world like you did last week (Martin, I here he plays dirty), but you will be going up against a bunch of pretty hard working kids who looked really impressive on Wed. night.  Should be a great game.
Another regular poster (St. Croix) will also be on the show talking HS basketball up North.  The show is on from 8:00-10:00.

You ever see Anger Management?  That's what you reminded me of...

What do you mean "you people"???  ??? ;D

Your company is "payment" enough.  I'd feel bad beating you guys AND making you pay! lol.

Stoutguy,

I'm usually not up at 9 in the morning on Saturdays, let alone any other day, but it was worth it today.  Very nice interview with Jack Bennett this morning.  If it's true that you guys will have Jack on a "weekly" basis, I might have to make a habit of this early morning crap!  ;D

Big Pionter sports day with women's basketball at 3, men's at 5 and men's hockey at 7:30.  Not sure if I'll make all three.  There might be a little let down for the mens after their big win on Wednesday.  I don't forsee the predicted 25+ to 30+ win some posters are predicting over in the pick em page!

Old School,

Abercrombie is still around. He's kind of a "dumb a**" so he probably forgets to post once in a while.   ;D

Could be. But it's an over-the-top compliment.  ;)

Thanks, Old School.  How did you like his reaction to TVD's quote about his team?  I really liked and agreed with what he said.  He should have an interesting perspective on this league this year, and yes, we do plan to have him as a guest on a regular basis.

Unless I missed out, I have yet to see him post this year...let alone join this year's pick em pool, which he usually does pretty well in.  Quite frankly, my dear, I'm disappointed.  ;)

So, shouldn't I get credit for that "quote" you mentioned to Jack since I posted that MS quote on this very site???  :o  Or, do you guys actually get the Milwaukee Sentinel way up over there?  ;D  I'm not sure who it was, heck it might have been you, that mentioned something about the Oshkosh baseball coach on this site and Jack said something about him too.  I thought that was interetesting.

Anyway, he was right on the head, and from the sounds of it, from his comment and the people that were at the Oshkosh/Point game, the Titan players had no emotion.  Hope things get better because they are making the WIAC look bad! lol.

Yes, Old School, my comment to Jack about TVD's quote is right from you and that's why reading this stuff everyday on this board can be fun.  We also talked to Mike Couch this morning about HS basketball.  Mike is a regular poster also, over the years, and did a nice job talking about some of the area athletes and teams that he likes.

Here's my three cents worth on the situation at UWO right now.
It is pretty easy to find things wrong when a team isn't playing up to your expectations.  I watched Point look like a team with no fire or leadership last year when they lost handily in the last conference game last season against Oshkosh.  The point being, things are definitely different when teams have placed very high expectations on themselves.  In that game, Point had visions of another national championship dancing in their heads, and Oshkosh was just trying to upset the best team in the country (as some would say, their super bowl).  The preseason favorite the last three years has played below expectations during the first part of the season.  Last year Point had the whole starting five back from a national champion and lost three conference games before playing like the best team in the country in the post season. The year before that River Falls struggled during the first half before playing well in the second half, and the year before that Oshkosh did the same thing.  There is such a fine line between the teams in this conference that a little mental edge can be the difference between wins and losses.  UWO needs to forget about how they want the season to end, and focus their effort on playing better now.  Once things start going in their favor, it can snowball into the season they and everyone else is expecting.

UW Oshkosh   65
UW Superior    55

The KUWS announcers did a nice job.  Everybody should check them out when your team plays at Superior.

Care to give a general comment on what Jack said to those of us that are unable to listen to your fine program??

Old School-Since your taking credit for TVD's quote from the JS, I feel it is only right for me to take credit for comparing TVD comments to UWO's baseball coach (Tom Lechnir.) ;D ;D
