He would not have there years of eligibility remaning. You only have 10 semesters following high school to get your 8 semesters of eligbility in. If he graduated in '05, he would only have 4 semesters left, two this year and two next year at most.

That would be assuming he has been enrolled in school since he last played wouldn't it?

Just Bill

Correct.  If you don't attend college at all, your "10-semester clock" doesn't tick.  Hence, the 58-year old football player at Sul Ross State last year.

So without knowing where he was for the past two seasons it's impossible to say for sure how much eligibility he has left.

This was just reported on the UWP Men's Basketball page.  UW-Whitewater preseason #5, UWP preseason #8 according to Sporting news.

Story here

Goodwin and Skemp preseason 1st Team All-American.  Beyer and Rortvedt honorable mention.

Happy first day of practice everyone!

Practice actually starts on Sunday the 19th this year...but I like where your head is at!

Just Bill

Maybe at Platteville, but the first allowable day this season was the 15th.  I know several teams are off and running.  It's now a standard day rather than fluctuating with Thanksgiving.  It will always be Oct. 15th (until the rule changes).

I believe the rule is that you can start on the 15th, but then have to take a solid week off during the season, like during the holidays. Maybe that's a WIAC thing.

If the coach doesn't want to take a week off, then practice needs to start this weekend.

That said, I like where your heads are at!  :)

Forgot about that....geez I can be so stupid sometimes!  Reality is though, I'm getting quite used to it, so it doesn't sting nearly as much as it used to.  :D

I haven't found any rosters out for this year yet. Do they wait till the week of the first game?
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Teams have up to their first game to declare their 20-man rosters to the conference office. With some teams just starting practice this week, that final roster may take some time to be determined.

20 is max?
Are they allowed to amend that roster throughout the season?
