He strained his MCL and reaggravated it on Saturday.  I think the rest Point has this week (one week between games), and the week and a half rest after the Edgewood game before Carroll (and both are at home, too) will really help Point.  Pete still isn't up to his normal shooting form, Beamer needs to be able to rest his knee, and Hurd still hasn't thrown on the uni yet...  I think Point has some room to get better this year, and they haven't played bad up to this point.

Mr. Downtown

Hey everyone, been awhile since I've posted. Just noticed that Oshkosh looks like they are struggling. Anyone seen them this year? Any reason why they lost to River Falls and St. Norberts?

Thanks

I heard it was due to the lack of good TV and radio coverage since you left.   ;)

UWW hangs on and gets a 75-66 win against UWO.  UWO had cut a late double digit deficit down to 3 with a minute left.  Kingsby iced the game from the FT line.

Both WHITEWATER and Oshkosh shot lights out from the floor in the first half, 62.5% and 61.9% respectively, but WHITEWATER trailed by as many as seven points before rallying behind Matt Goodwin and Kori Vernon to hold a slight edge, 36-32, when the half ended.  A lead they would never relinquish building it to as many as eleven points before the Titan rallied to pull within three points 69-66 with just over a minute remaining.  However Tyson Kingsby went 6-6 from the free throw line after that and the Titan missed two shots and had two turnovers in their final four possessions allowing the WARHAWKS to pull away and win 75-66.  Kinsby finished with a season high 14 points which included a perfect 10-10 from the charity stripe.  Vernon led the WARHAWKS with 18 points and 8 rebounds.  Myles McKay chipped in 17 points and Matt Goodwin 10 points.

DJ Marsh led all scorers with 20 points while Dane SeckarAnderson finished with 16 and Matt Miller added 15.

The WARHAWKS host Cardinal Stritch tonight, weather permitting.

Mr. Downtown--the reason Osh lost to RF is that Osh was the second best team on the floor that night. RF D held your three specialist, Miller, to 1/7 on three attempts.

Well, Mr. Bigshot Mayor, we held him to 27 points and we lost.  And yes, we were clearly the 2nd best team on the floor.  Seriously, though, we did play much better against Oshkosh than we did against you guys so maybe there is hope.

The shorthanded, flu plagued WARHAWKS handled Mount Senario last night 90-69.  WHITEWATER took their first lead with 17 minutes remaining in the first half and never looked back.  Leading by ten, 39-29, at the half the WARHAWKS gradually built their lead over the second half to as many as 26 points with just over a minute and half remaining in the game.  Myles McKay led all scorers with 31 points and Chris Vines added 10 points.  McKay also led WARHAWK rebounders with 7.  Tyson Kingsby ran his consecutive free throw string to 13 going 3 for 3.  He also had 9 points, 4 assists and a pair of steals.   WHITEWATER shot 54% from the field for the game and had 17 assists to a season low 7 turnovers.

The WARHAWKS will fly to Texas next week and face  LeTourneau 12/29 and then the winner of Mary Harden Baylor and Lake Forest the next evening.

The WARHAWKS will play a pair of home games this week meeting Oshkosh on Wednesday and Mount Senario the following evening.   Then it's off to Texas.

Oops, I meant Cardinal Stritch.  For some stupid reason I've always struggled to keep those two straight.

You know if BW keeps trying to open that school, our Eddie is going to want to go back there.  He won a ton of games there.  Wouldn't have to battle the SP's, WW's, and Platteville's anymore. :o

I'm sure there would the non-conference season, you know, just for old time sake.  :)

I can't wait until UW-Whitewater puts Milton College back on the schedule.  Dave Krieg can toss the ceremonial jump ball.

Does BW still keep the scoreboard?  I wonder if he entered in Mt. Senario on the visitors side of the board?
