UWL had no trouble with 11-4 NAIA II Dakota Wesleyan tonight at Mitchell Hall, winning 95-63. LC shot 60% from the floor and 52% (13 of 25) from 3 pt land. Good balance and depth, and Wesleyan had no answer for Merklein and
Kincaid inside. Senior point guard Brandon Brown was not in uniform for the Eagles, and no announcement has been made regarding his
status.

The WARHAWKS (10-1) defeated LeTourneau (7-2) 69-58.  After the lead see-sawed for the first 7 minutes WHITEWATER began to dominate and pull away building the lead to 20 points, 41-20 at the midpoint.  After scoring the first three points of the second half to go up 24, 44-20, the [WARHAWKS seemed to loose their focus turning the ball over and missing shots and LeTourneau began cutting into the lead which they eventually whittled down to seven points, 65-58, with just under a minute to play.  But WHITEWATER made 4 of 6 from the free throw line and LeTourneau turned the ball over twice and missed a shot in the final three possessions allowing the WARHAWKS to push the lead back to eleven points.

Myles McKay led all scorers with 19 points and 4 steals.  Kori Vernon added 18 points, 6 rebounds and Matt Goodwin contributed 11 points.  Goodwin led all rebounders with 9 including 5 on the offensive end as WHITEWATER dominated the boards 39-19 (17 offensive).

WHITEWATER will play the winner of Lake Forest vs the hosting Mary Harden Baylor tommorrow at 5pm CST.

A guy has to be pretty quick to beat BoBo.   :D

Whitewater to play UMHB, as the Cru is up 80-32 with 8 minutes remaining. Was 55-18 at the break. The Cru BB team out to do something the Cru ftball team hasn't been able to do to the Warhawks!!   ;)   :D

Sorry, bw, didn't know it was a race to post...I bet if we had a foot race, it might be more of an even contest!!  ;)

UWEC over Norhtwestern (MN), 78-52.

Looks like a good day for the WIAC!

LeTourneau just beat Mary Harden Baylor by a 60-47 score earlier this month.

WHITEWATER beat Lewis & Clark 77-66 in November.

Though he wasn't playing poorly, I just thought it was a matter of him not asserting himself, Kori Vernon has really kicked it into another gear recently.

I don't know BoBo no one would mistake me for the the Flash.  :D

I came across this article on the LAX website this morning...

UW-L coach Ken Koelbl said senior point guard Brandon Brown, a three-year starter, has been declared academically ineligible. Koelbl said Brown, who is averaging 8.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals a game, might not return until second semester, which starts Jan. 26. If that is the case, the Eagles would be without Brown for eight more games.

It's tough to see this happen to seniors.  Let's hope he can get his academic act back together.

Listened to the UWP/Carthage game last night.  Tight game in the first half, as Pioneers went up 29-26 at the break.  Sounded like the Pioneers had plenty of chance to open it up in the first half, but couldn't finish shots.  Nick Allen comes out in second half and scores first 7 Pioneer points in a run that saw make their first 9 shots of the half and finish a 17-1 run.

Pioneers contain Djurickovic for 23 points, his lowest of the season.  Seems crazy you have a guy score 23, and it is considered containing him.  their other main scoring threat, Sean Findley was held to 2 points.  He came in averaging 18.

Game Story

Pioneers face host St Norbert's tonight at 7:00.

Nice to see Matt Miller is apparently heating up and getting aggressive in Arizona. Funny how UWO got to the line 41 times against Old Westbury and just eight times versus CNU. Liking the rebound differential and the number of shots the role players are taking, too. Hope that's what I'll see (Titan BB: rebound and get to the line) when UWO gets back.

Whitewater going down to UMHB in Texas 73-67 with 7 seconds remaining.

Supers take game three in their bracket of the Cactus Jam, beating Albion by 12. From what I could see, Supes led all the way--but I tuned in with ten minutes gone in the first half. No sight of Dwight Hill. Gotta find out about that.

After 10 lead changes and 2 ties UMHB took the lead with just over 8:40 remaining in the first half and built it to as many as 7 points on two occassions before WHITEWATER rallied to close within two points, 30-28, when the half ended.  Turnovers, poor shooting and fouls plagued the WARHAWKS as several starters spent time on the bench.  Myles McKay played 9 minutes of the half.  The score remained close in a second half that saw 8 lead changes and 3 ties.  WHITEWATER took their first lead of the half at the 13:38 mark and after it see-sawed for a couple minutes built the lead to six points 63-57 with 4:55 left in the game.  But turnovers and fouls contributed to UMHB regaining the lead, 68-67 with only 1:35 left.  After that WHITEWATER turned the ball over twice and missed a pair of shots while UMHB made plays and free throws to finish 73-67 winners.

Myles McKay led the WARHAWKS with 17 points (14 in the second half) and Kori Vernon finished with 12 points.  For the first time this season WHITEWATER had an opponent not only shoot more free throws than they did but also make more free throws than they attempted.  In the post game interview Coach Miller stated that the game resembled a football game more than one with a basketball.  Except, of course, we won the football game.  WHITEWATER was also out rebounded 36-34 and allowed UMHB to pull down 17 offensive rebounds.  The WARHAWKS had 23 turnovers in the game.

It was a bad loss to a medicore UMHB team.  But we played poorly and deserved it.  They were led by a senior guard, Gaddy (sp?) who came into the game averaging 14 points but put 31 in the book today.  From the sounds of it nobody could defend him.

To the idiot who screeched every time a WHITEWATER player shot a free throw.  Love your enthusiasm but my god you are annoying.

I know there is an in game update page, but oh well at this point.

Pioneers led by 15 at half, but are currently down two 53-51 with 5:34 left in game.  Jeff Skemp has 3 points at this point.

I am following the live stats.  It seems SNU is getting layups at will.  Hanson and Skemp have been in foul trouble the entire game.

Point is about to go down, trailing at home to Carroll, 83-69 with 45 seconds left.

A good possibility that the "so called conference top 3" will go down (all top 10 nationally)
