They always wait until the WIAC tourney to beat Oshkosh.  :-[

Big win for Point on the road.  Looks like those turnovers did in UWP once again (-8 margin)

Nice job by WW, holding EC to 88 when they were averaging 66 in conference so far.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Point may need to change their mascot to the Chameleons

Maybe Point just plays down to their competition! lol...I KEED, I KEED!

Both Carroll and Lawrence will be fighting St. Norb's for the MWC title.  I like both of their teams...

I made the long drive down to P-ville and was treated to a great game. This one was like a tournament game with both teams playing pretty well. Lohoff had a fine game but everything seemed to click for SP and everyone had their moments out on the court. They even hit free throws :)  Does Skemp ever get fired up??  He seemed to play with about as much emotion as Kerry Gibson displayed when he played for Oshkosh. Well I picked SP in the pick 'em board, so I just had to buy a Powerball ticket on the way home too ;D

Greek Tragedy

I'm impressed with Point's 3-game conference road trip and coming out with three big wins, including two in OT.

I voted for Quandt, even though I haven't been to all the arenas.  I'm sure Brian will vote for Quandt.

It would be hard to justify a palace like they have in other places with our attendance.  The main reason we are building such a fancy outdoor stadium is the state track meet.  I don't think our football team has ever sold out Veterans Stadium.

The WARHAWKS jumped on top 9-0 and on 60.5% shooting built leads as high as 22 points before the first half ended with them up 56-38.  In the second half the WARHAWKS maintain leads of 16-21 points for the first 9 minutes of play.  Then Eau Claire went on a 20-4 run that closed the gap to five points and later got it a single point on two occassions the latter being with just over two minutes remaining.  But Myles McKay dropped a three-pointer, Kori Vernon a monster dunk and Phil Negri 4-4 free throws to build the lead to 10 points before the game ended with WHITEWATER up 96-88.

Eau Claire shot 62.9% from the floor in the second half but missed three of their last four shots and turned the ball over twice in the final minutes of play.

Both teams had five players score in double figures.  Myles McKay led all scorers with either 29 or 32 points.  The official book had him for 32 but the SID had him for 29.  Kori Vernon added 17 points and led the WARHAWKS with 8 rebounds.  Phil Negri had either 13 or 10 points depending on who you believe while Dustin Mitchell and Chris Vines scored 12 and 10 respectively.

Dan Beyer paced Eau Claire with 19 points and Geoff Probst added a double-double 16 points, 10 rebounds.

Each team rebounded off the offensive boards well with WHITEWATER pulling down 14 and Eau Claire 12.  WHITEWATER ended with 37 total rebounds to Eau Claire's 32.  Free throws were the difference with WHITEWATER going 25-34 and Eau Claire 6-7.

Won't that be a waste when they move the state track meet to Oshkosh in a few years?
