Thanks, Old School.  Yes, Bennett is fun to interview because he really can have opinions about the conference and not hold back because of the normal "coach speak" issues that most coaches employ.  Feel badly that I won't see the big Point/Stout matchup Feb. 7th but don't feel too sorry for me as I will be in Cancun for a few weeks.  Introduce yourself to coach Eddie.  He would appreciate it.

Gibson with 23pts 9reb

You could add 6 blocks to Gibson's stat line as well.

As far as players hitting big shots..... How about Tim Dworak form UWO?  I'm sure some Whitewater players and fans are still having nightmares about the shot he hit to win the Conference Championship a few years back.

Welcome Back, BW!

Now you have to get into your transition game and get your mind off the gridiron and into the roundball.  :)

I am sure you will have no trouble doing so.  ;)

Thanks, it's been goofy lately, normally by this time I'd be completely immersed in hoops things.   It's funny you say that BDB because it was one of first rationalizations I used to get over the sting of defeat.   Fortunately with ref'ing, scoring and broadcasting it's an easy transition for me to make.

Don't you just hate it when your guys come up a game short and you have to use all those old, tired cliches about what a great season it was, look what we accomplished, blah, blah, blah .  I mean, they are true and all, but it just seems so hollow.

Yes, I've been there and it is a weird, hollow feeling.

I guess it's part of what we love and hate about sports. There can only be one champion, even though both teams had championship seasons.

What a ride you all had. I am sure fans of the other 7 WIAC teams would've traded places if we could. Even if it didn't end just right.

Hey, there's one of those cliches for you and I wasn't even trying.   :)

The Roop

Are MWC fans allowed at Quandt. I can't see a Beloit game until Jan. 10th and I'm having basketball withdrawls already.

Sure they are, but the only way they'll let you in is if you're wearing purple.   ;)

Actually, Point's only got two home games before Jan 10th... one vs. Viterbo, and then one against Stout, on the 7th.  The Stout game will be a heckuva game, I think, that would be the one to go to.

The BlueDevils get by a scare from 1-6 St. Norberts when Jacob Nonemacher puts back a missed shot with 2 seconds remaining to win it 59-58.

Stout was behind at half by 11, and the winning shot was only the third time that they led in the game.

Mr. Downtown

QuoteI'll throw another question out.

How do people like the WIAC going back to the Wednesday home/away format vs. the Tuesday/Wednesday set-up like last year?

Being a college broadcaster, it really helps us out  knowing from a broadcasting stand point that we can give both the men's and women's team equal coverage here in Oshkosh. Also, with WRST as our left arm, we can send broadcasters on the road to cover the other game. So in a sense, no matter what, UW-Oshkosh fans can either listen or watch either game on Wednesday's. And when you are like me, that has a TV show, a radio show, class, and a girlfriend to balance, its nice to know that conference games are either on Wednesday's or Saturday's...helps planning   :D

I have a question though, lately I have been in the works to possibly have Titan TV broadcasting the games live via the internet. I understand the conference already has someone in mind (PennAtlantic), however these people are from South Carolina, and wouldn't be able to broadcast as frequently as us. Now, most likely it won't happen until next football season. We are trying to make it FREE to watch (unlike PennAtlantic, which I believe they are going to force people to pay). I'm just wondering how many of you would watch us broadcast the games and deliever it to you via the internet?

Thanks, and happy holidays to everyone.

St. Norb's only lost to Oshkosh by 5.  Maybe they are the best 1-6 team in D3! ;D

Downtown-

I'd watch the games!  Over in Minnesota, I believe the MIAC has a couple schools that have live video streaming on the internet (St. Bens and Hamline).

BDB

Superior has been video streaming games for awhile now.

John Gleich

I know Wheaton streams at least some of their games (not the greatest quailty, but you can see people running up and down the court at least).  I watched both times they played Calvin last year (during the regular seaon and then in the NCAA's... it was just coincidence that it was Calvin both times).

1 game a night is the best thing to do.  I noticed that last year I sometimes would mistake the men's/women's start times and go to the wrong game, but it's nice only doing 1 event at a time.  It didn't happen very often, but I'm sure that the kids are liking not having to wait around for their game to start, making for a better league.

Hawks/Stout showdown, can't wait.  Sounds like Stout is really doing well up there in the Northwest, but hopefully UDUBDUB can't beat them.
