Quote from: PointSpecial on December 20, 2005, 03:25:26 PMI know Wheaton streams at least some of their games (not the greatest quailty, but you can see people running up and down the court at least). I watched both times they played Calvin last year (during the regular seaon and then in the NCAA's... it was just coincidence that it was Calvin both times).

We do... we video stream all our home games in addition to showing them on local tv (campus tv anyway). It isn't the greatest quality, true, but in combination with the PBP, you get a pretty good idea of what is actually going on on the court, whereas you only vaguely know with the play by play guy is saying things like, Nielson passes it to Steven.

What is Sup's broadcast like?

The fine folks at Quandt will let you in if you are one of the designated 36 tickets they give to the other side.  And if you got them through commercial means other than that, they will treat you like you are a stepchild and move you to the rafters whenever they damn well please.

With these limitations,  an MWC fan is welcome anytime.   :D

It's a good thing Wisconsin is famous for its cheese, I'm sure we have enough variety to spice up T2K's same old boring whine.............

The St. Thomas Tommies invade Mitchell Hall Wednesday night, and they appear to have an excellent team. I believe hey are currently ranked 23rd in the poll, and gave Stout a great game on the road. It should be an excellent test for La Crosse, and its toughest non-con game of the year.

BDB

diehard,

Superior does a nice job of video streaming their games.

It's a single camera format that comes in pretty good. The announcers are very good and you can hear them clearly.

T2K will never stop whining about the UWSP/Lawrence game in the 2005 NCAA Tournament.  We all know it's just sour grapes!  The Pointer NCAA Championship teams in 2004 & 2005 were just plain better than what Lawrence had to offer.  Yes the Vikings nearly beat the Pointers at Puget Sound in 2004, but that was one game and on a neutral floor with no crowd.  What a sad place that was to play the West Region final.  That men's regional tournament would have been in Point as well, but the Pointer women were hosting the west region finals.

Lawrence would have only a slim chance of beating the 2004 and 2005 Pointers once in ten tries.  I have great respect for what John Tharp has done at Lawrence, and they sure have handed it to TVD and the Titans lately.  BUT.............T2K, you'll never be able to live down the Vikings losses to the Pointers.  SCOREBOARD!  Again, your Quandt complaints are sour grapes.  The UWSP athletic administration is first class all the way.  I'd like to see where you'd have put the 1,000's of Pointer fans if the game was at the old and depleted Alexander gym.

Good points Play Defense.  What's lost in all of it was that Lawrence played just about as well as humanly possible in that game at UPS two years ago (they were 8/10 from 3, I think, in the first half).  And, like so many teams before and after them, they simply didn't have enough to finish off the Pointers.

Of course the only problem with the 2K has sour grapes because Point beat Lawrence theory is that 2K isn't a Lawrence backer so one would wonder why he'd still be ruminating over that.

No, I think 2K is more likely simply trying to get a rise out of the Point fans who he seems to enjoy digging at as much as WARHAWK fans.  Perhaps it's their superiority over his own team or maybe he just doesn't like purple.  I'm not sure.  But as such we'd all be better off simply ignoring his drivel.  We only encourage him by responding.

I meant hopefully UWW can beat Stout, not can't beat Stout.  Whoops, luckily 2K pointed out my spelling errors on previous occasions.

I hate purple-Vikings, Point, but Warhawk purple looks so good on ESPN II.  Can't say the same for Titan crap yellow and black and their checkered lining along the necks.

Go Hawks!

River Falls looks like they are wearing pajama bottoms when they warm up.  Those are some awful warmups.  Nice stripes.

T2K is kind of a LU fan.  I think he came to Quandt just to cheer against the Pointers when LU came last year.  He also chants the "Better Dead Than Red" Viking slogan like it's going out of style.  He also keeps talking about a Super Bowl ever since Larry U beat Oshkosh at the beginning of the year.

I just ignore him like my 9-year old nephew.

OS,

Concerning the RF warm-up pants, I think that comes from Rick Bowens history with Indiana and Bobby Knight. I am not sure what the Hoosiers wear these days, but during Bobby Knights tenure they wore the same red/white striped warm-up pants.

BDB-

How do you access the Superior video stream?  All I see on their site is a "Listen Live" link.

BDB

buf,

I've watched it when the Devils played up there, and it was linked through the Stout website. That's how I've gotten the video.

Perhaps they don't video stream all the games, and only put the link up for games they do.

Or maybe they dropped it this year. With all the coaching turmoil this too may have gone by the wayside.  :(

I hope not, it was pretty cool. You could watch the games full screen. One game everytime the ball was at mid-court you could see the back of stoutguys head doing the radio gig. Not a pretty site.  ;)

titan2000 is a fan of Lawrence period!!!!!   He likes to take a jab at UWO whenever they lose to Lawrence, which has been often the past three seasons.  For some reason, TVD is the target of many of his jabs, so I don't know if he and TVD have a past or what.......

Finally got off of "0" for my karma...... Wonder if the above post has anything to do with it????
