Anyone happen to know why the UWO/Point game on Thursday is a 6:00 pm start instead of the normal 7:00 pm start?  I am assuming it probably has something to do with the Pointer women also hosting, even though they typically play in a different gym.

Women play at 8:00, so I'm sure that is the precise reason.  Not everyone has that luxury of two gyms, but I'm guessing they probably want to keep as many people there as they can.

Didn't the women play Monday/Wednesday/Saturday for the WIAC tourney?  Mainly to prevent things such as this on Thursday night?

Personally, I'll be surprised if the WIAC gets three in.  I've seen the politics of this too many times.

West Region
1. St. Thomas 22-0 22-0
2. Puget Sound 21-2 18-0
3. UW-Whitewater 20-3 19-3
4. UW-Stevens Point 20-3 19-3
5. UW-Platteville 20-3 15-3
6. Buena Vista 22-2 19-2
7. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 16-6 14-4
8. Whitworth 18-5 16-5

I think all three WIAC teams are safe and there's a possibility that the WIAC could get...*gulp* FOUR teams in.  Oshkosh always plays Point tough and I wouldn't be shocked if they beat Point tomorrow.  If that happens and Whitewater wins, well then...we know that Oshkosh beat them earlier this year and they played Whitewater tough in the loss down there.  So, even if Point, Whitewater and Platteville all end up with 5 losses (well, two of them have to end up with 5), I think they are safe...

*the regional rankings come out today...ranking posted here are last week's rankings and all three WIAC teams had a loss last week...so that puts each of them at 4 losses already.

We'll have to play a whole lot better for 40 minutes to compete with Platteville Thursday.

Making the trip?

I really hope the students are not scared away by the $3 ticket price, as it seems maybe there were in Whitewater last night.  I guess I hope the community and the season ticket holders are not scared away as well.  I know our Tuesday game last year when they lost to Eau Claire wasn't greatly attended, but it's Whitewater.  Really hoping we sell it out again, but not thinking its realistic....

Hopefully Pvegas and the crew will prove me wrong!

Oh you know we're going to be there! After roadtrips to WW and StP, a big game at home again is a treat (and costs less  :) ). The student section officers are organizing an ORANGE OUT for tomm, so you should see a lot of ORANGE in the student section tomm!

Staffing wise though, UWSP won't play two games at the same time anyway.  Just not enough people to go around.

The schedule changed this year when they cut down to 6 teams.  I'm sure they realized with there could be conflicts, but with fewer teams there's less chances of a conflict.  Didn't work out in this case though.

Does anyone know the story on Shane Manor? The UW-Superior roster does not include Manor. Is he transferring? Did he just quit?

I like Point to pull out a close one against Oshkosh on their home court. I think that Seckor-Anderson will be the X-factor for Oshkosh. If he plays well, they play well and they could pull off the upset in that case...

Also I think Platteville will beat Whitewater. Platteville is tough to beat at home and will play smarter than Whitewater. Platteville also has the advantage of being fresh off a bye. Their key guys will rested and ready to go.

Left the team.  Had some issues in the past with work ethic, not playing and practicing hard, and just in general,  things not working out for Shane.  Superior did land the undefeated Northwestern team's 6'7 senior.  This kid averages 13 or so a game on a team that features 2 juniors that are 6'8 and 6'5 who are being recruited heavily.  Looking forward to watching NW in d2 tournament.

Any weather issues to report?  Are all the games good to go?

Did the UW-Oshkosh charter to Point get out of Wittman Field?  It is really snowing hard.   ::)
