I know that, and you know that, but the recruits Cardinal Stritch talks to don't seem to know that.  I've been railing against their "we're equivalent to D-II" position for years.

They should play a strictly D2 schedule and see how they do.

Javar and Javaris Lawson from Racine St. Catherine's have committed to UW-Whitewater along with Luca Burns a redshirt freshman at D2 Concordia-St. Paul (ex-Janesville Craig).

I think Terrell Parks from Beloit Memorial is still in the works!

Looks like UWW just reloaded.

We still will need to recruit a point guard.

Word on the street is that Paul Combs is going to be the new Head Coach at Wayne State and Platteville will be wide open...

badgerwarhawk

It's official, Combs is headed to Wayne State.

If Mr. Combs does indeed get the Wayne State job I would think that Jeff Gard would be a leading candidate to replace him ???  Platteville seems to be going that route since the Bo Ryan days.

There is a 3:00 PM press conference in Wayne, Nebraska tomorrow to announce Paul Cmbs as the new Head Basketball coach.  Combs was selected out a group of about 350 applicants.

Don't be surprised if Will Ryan is in the mix as well!!!!

If it really is wide open I would think Todd Adrian at Edgewood would be in the mix as well. He was top assistant under Combs at Platteville and I think at Lakeland before that, and his team won their division of their conference this season.

These are all good candidates....who else will apply for this job? Anyone who are assistants at D1 or D2? Guys who have been out of basketball for a year or two? What about guys who coached in the league previously?

I think it will be a guy from the outside.  Just my hunch, the AD is not a platteville guy maybe he has his own guy from his days somewhere else.

I think Jeff Gard, Todd Adrian or what about Greg Gard possibly wanting to come home.  Will is in a perfect spot to be a d1 head someday dont seem him going to Platteville.

Will be interesting.  I heard Buchanan is the leader at Cardinal Stritch.  There could be two openings in the WIAC.

We have a confirmation on this that's good enough to go with so we're publishing it.

I think they are going to seriously consider inside choices.  They will also look at the outside, and whoever is the best fit for the job will get it.

I don't see Greg Gard coming back.  It would be a chance to be a head coach, but in the mean time it would be a huge pay cut.  If he wants to be a D-1 head coach, I think he is in a better position now at Wisconsin, than coming back here.
