Yeah, sorry I blew up like that. I just got tired of all the "home cooking" and the refs not knowing an intentional foul when they see it  ::)

Couldn't figure out how to put all these stats in a nice neat table (but I'm good with a sawzall) but this is a comparison of the team stats of the teams in the Stevens Point Sectional from the NCAA stat pages (3/07/10).

Carthage             IWU                    UT-D                UWSP

Rank   Actual   Rank   Actual     Rank   Actual      Rank   Actual
17   82.8            39   75.9          17   82.8         10   86.2      Won-Lost Percentage

101   74.8        78   75.6            49   78.3          119   74.0      Scoring Offense

59   64.8          146   68.8            89   66.6         7   59.4        Scoring Defense

30   10.0            60   6.8            15   11.8          6   14.6      Scoring Margin

6   49.7            12   48.9            20   48.4           8   49.4      Field-Goal Percentage

65   7.4             138   6.6            9   9.3              289   5.2      Three-Point FG Per Game

78   36.4            39   37.6           60   37.1         68   36.7      Three-Point FG Percentage

80   71.9          162   69.4         15   75.6         41   73.8       Free-Throw Percentage

201   0.0            74   4.2           70   4.4           34   6.0         Rebound Margin

97   14.6            30   15.9         11   16.8         182   13.3      Assists Per Game

3   1.4             8   1.33           25   1.22            6   1.35        Assist Turnover Ratio

24   4.5            389   1.3          314   2.0          185   2.8        Blocked Shots Per Game

345   5.9         404   3.8          276   6.7          254   6.9        Steals Per Game

4   10.4           25   11.9          109   13.8            2   9.9        Turnovers Per Game

69   2.2             128   1.0          140   0.8           38   3.0      Turnover Margin

187   18.0         239   18.6           51   16.0         18   15.0      Personal Fouls Per Game

Two categories that stand out are the shooting percentages and the assist-turnover ratios where all four teams are in the top 25 in the country.

Hmm... a post about refs not knowing intentional fouls when they see them, followed by a stats-filled post showing UWSP with the lowest number of personal fouls. Perfect timing ;)

It would be interesting to see that same table of stats for the last ten games.

Couldn't figure out how to put all these stats in a nice neat table (but I'm good with a sawzall)

See the two-line toolbar labeled Add BBC tags: above the row of smileys when you're composing a post? In the middle of the bottom row of the toolbar are three icons that consist of boxes that are each made up of nine smaller boxes. The one on the left has no colored-in smaller boxes. That's the table format icon. Click on it, and you create a table. The one in the middle (which has the three smaller boxes in its top row colored royal blue) is the table row icon. Click on it, and you create a row within your table. The one on the right (which has the smaller box in the upper-left corner colored royal blue) is the table cell icon. Click on it, and you create a cell within your row.

The coding looks like this as you type your post (I've added extra spaces to keep these deactivated):

[ table ] [ /table ] = table format
[ tr ] [ /tr ] = table row
[ td ] [ /td ] = table cell

I found those and even looked up the instructions for their use on the FAQ page, but couldn't figure out how to use them.

There's a Hardees right across the street from Quandt. You can easily run out for bacon cheese fries at the half and make it back in plenty of time for the start of the second. Sounds like quite a prize to me.

I do all my tables using an excel program.  it looks complicated, but once u get the hang of it, its pretty easy.  i could send u a copy to see what it looks like.

The thing about using the table format provided by the d3boards.com software's toolbar is that it causes everything to line up perfectly without your having to monkey with it at all. (However, if you overload it with data it tends to skew slightly here and there, such as it does here.)

When I first tried it without using excel, it took forever.  I was new !t though.  Without excel, dont you have to highlight each piece of info and then click on the tab?  In excel, I have the td/tr etc in their own columns already.  Everything lines up.

I got it now. I tried the entire post and then entire lines hoping it would work that way. It appears to be tedious  to do the entirtable  this way.

I like OS's approach... I hadn't thought about adding the tags into the excel spreadsheet... that will be much easier than highlighting and clicking the appropriate table-button.

That's an interesting table of CCIW scorers. I wonder if there are any father/son combos out there who have ever scored more points in Division III than Dave (2,563 at Carroll) and Mike (1,224 at UW-Platteville) Shaw.

It's certainly not going to be an easy task for Point but I just can't see them not going to the final 4.  I know there's some great teams coming to the Quandt but it's such a huge advantage at this point to be playing at home.  Personally I don't think any team remaining in the Sweet 16 should get to host and it should be neutral but that's just me.  Either Way I love the Pointers and can't complain about them having the advantage.  I know were still playing this year but I'm curious to hear what people think about next year.  Will Point be able to overcome the loss of Moses?  He is such a solid defensive player and seems to always come up huge when needed.  I think Harris has so much upside if he can get a little stronger and learn to use a pull up jumpshot.  He always gets that step by the defender and sometimes I wish he would just do a runner or do a jump stop and hit the jumper.  I'm a huge Krull fan and think he's the most underrated Pointer by far.  He always plays with so much intensity and is a great defender.  I was very impressed the way he defender Hostetter in the WIAC semi's.  Tillema will have to really step it up next year if they want to get this far again or they will need a big time transfer or recruit at guard.  Anyone know if Ziemer is going to play at Point next year or if he's even still in school?
