Which in turn, would cause me to point the blame at UWO's defense, not their offense.....  :-\

Aren't they the same five players?  ;D :P

Here is a picture of Semling walking on the court while the game is going on nearby.   Maybe he was returning form the concession stand.  ;D

Coach Ted Van Dellen threw at least two of his players under the bus in the Oshkosh Northwestern after the loss.  I am sure they will be highly motivated by his comments.  I attached that below as well.  I am sure that is going to really help him in recruiting talent to fill in next year when Marsh, DSA and Miller are gone.   :-[

Last time I checked, Marsh is only a Junior, so I would think he'd be back....  (They will also get their starting "2" back in Greg Schrimpf who is taking a medical redshirt this season.)

Regardless, when I think of guys getting "thrown under the bus" the coach calls them out by name.  In the article it gives positions, which in my eyes means starters and reserves.  It's no secret UWO lacked depth last season, and even more this year.  When guys you are counting on getting significant minutes don't come through, (Tillema, Borgardt, Schrimpf) it means the guys you anticipated being your role players are now the ones logging big-time minutes.

Point was well aware of the lack of talent behind the "Big 3" and ran in fresh legs several times throughout the game to pressure them and tire them out.

How about that rebound dunk by Marsh in the first half?  D-I quality play there 8)

titan2000

Agreed on the Marsh dunk.  Wow.  :o :o :o

Why didn't he play D1--I believe he has the skills.

3 WIAC teams remain in this weeks Top 25:

UWP is #4
Point is #6
UWW is #9

That's not bad representation, considering the way we chew each other up.

A majority of the losses of the ranked WIAC teams are at the hands of MWC teams--Carroll, St. Norberts and Lawrence.   ;)

And yet those three schools are a combined 4-5 against the WIAC this year.....

Carroll is a girl's name. Usually that is not a good sign straight up against the manly WIAC.  ;)

But that does means they are a favorite vs. LU this week.   :-[

If you see Carroll O'Connor's henchmen on your doorstep, run like hell.

One way, maybe the best way, for RF to be  competitive vs. SP is to hold them below 50% shooting. The Pointers lead the league with almost 55% accuracy. Four of their players are among the top 12 shooters in the WIAC. RF will have to play the intense kind of D they played vs. Oshkosh in order to keep SP under 50%.

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

Now that I re-read my previous post, I realize i should have said "well below 50% shooting." On an average night, RF is only hitting 47%.

Greek Tragedy

"The sad thing is that we know who the shooters are, and who's driving; it's on the scouting report," Seckar-Anderson said.

Unlike his Titans, Point has more than three shooters on the team.  It's no offense to Oshkosh.  It's the same as if I said Point doesn't have a go-to guy like Oshkosh has in Marsh.  That's just how it is.  Point had all 5 starters in double figures.  It's kind of hard to "single out" who's going to shoot.  Granted, we really do only have one "driver" in Matt Moses! lol  :D  Point has 5 players averaging double-figures for the season.

In that article that was posted before, I don't understand what TVD is getting all worked up about.  It's been 13 games and he's just realizing he's getting no production outside the Big 3?  I skimmed through the boxscores and of the 13 games, a guy not named Matt Miller, DSA or Marsh has scored in double figures just FOUR times.

Wittwer (11 pts) vs. Lewis & Clark
Wittwer (12) and Luke Miller (11) vs. Carroll U.
Wittwer (13) vs. Lawrence

The Big 3 are definitely a handful to defend, but it's a lot easier to defend 3 than 5.
