Cubs,
I don't have any inside scoop but just lookin at Millers top 50 and I'm guessing here, that area names like Wojahn, Kitkowski, Giordana, Ford, Royston and Free have to be some that are looked at as attractive with Kitkowski receiving top billing in that group by far.
Like I said earlier, I would rather just wait until the end of the year before I say anything.

Not that those attendence numbers are accurate, but in Oshkosh's Elite 8 year (2001-2002), they averaged 676 for conference games.

It steadily went up as the year went on.  Nearly 1200 for the Point game, but we know how well they travel.  Close to 1600 against Whitewater for what looks like the WIAC championship game and then 2177 against Ripon, well, they aren't far away.

Is there that many more things to do in Oshkosh than go see even really good basketball (at that time)...??

Well, the Golden Corral has really stepped it up at their buffet; the Oshkosh populace does have to eat.

That is one of the funniest things I have read on this forum in a LONG time. I wish I could give you +302 karma for that.

Mr. Downtown

Bucks,

It doesn't matter who Oshkosh brings if TVD can't get anything productive out of them. That's the point we are making; that perhaps TVD's style is not good enough to win the WIAC anymore.

Oh, and that point is hard to argue with. Capelle, Gibson, Marsh, Miller, DSA, and Jordan Johnson were the types of players you could win a conference championship with. Yet, a big fat 0.

Maybe they will catch fire in the conference tourney and...well, never mind. They couldn't beat Superior on their home court last year.

Ever since Oshkosh started 7-0 last season, they are 21-18 since.

Not very impressive, especially for a program that is used to winning double digit WIAC games a season.

Mr. Downtown

Gratz to UWW, UW-Plat, and UW-SP for getting a nod in the regional rankings.

Unfortunately we all know that sadly, one of those teams isn't going to make it...

I'm going to wager that you are wrong on this one.....  I have a feeling that all three will make it, barring one of them losing a couple of games to one of the six "also-rans" in the WIAC.

Not necessarily true...  Like I posted on the front page blog, there are 5 more losses to be handed to the top 3 teams if they don't lose to any of the bottom 6.  WWs place is most tenuous... because they've the three in-region losses.  If they lose to UWP and UWSP again in the reg season and then once more in the tourney, they'd probably be one of the last teams in and they would just have to pray for not too many upsets in the tourneys.  Point is in the best position and got the #1 seed by their strength of sched and their wins  vs. ranked opponents.  They have Ws over WW, UWP, Elmurst, and Trinity (Tx), the former two which are 2 and 1 respectively in their regions. Their only blemish vs. a ranked team is from Carroll, who might drop out of the regional rankings by the time everything is said and done.  I don't think SP needs to worry about Larry U jumping up to the rankings... but that category is secondary anyway.

Unless they lose 4+ more games, I think Platte and Point are in.  There are 18 Pool C bids this year which is a TON compared to a few years ago, and each of these three have/will have better resumes than Stout, La Crosse, and WW from 2006.  WW and Stout had 5 losses in-region and LaX had 7.

Mr. DT,

We have gone from community outreach to now that the coaches style can't win in the league, anymore.  Anymore?

What is the difference now and the last how many years?

I'm not buyin it.

Greek Tragedy

Point up 41-33 over Stout at the break
Superior up 28-26 over River Falls at half
Platteville up 39-19 with less than a minute to go before HT
Eau Claire up 33-30 over Oshkosh at intermission

My theory on why T2K version 2.0 has an ax to grind with TVD is, T2K settled into a good spot on Lake Winnebago a bunch of years ago to do some ice fishing, and some rude usher made him move because that spot was reserved for Ted.

Yes, and I had to move my satellite wireless hook-up off my shanty and I've never forgiven him.  Wow, I am glad I have that off my chest.

I know T -2K is just being a smart-ass as always, but for those of you who don't know any better, any poster with 200 posts or more than affect your karma once per 24 hours. There are many people who fit those criteria, as you can see.
