Well, at least I'm not bowling or playing online Jeopardy!

Not playing online Jeopardy! ... taking the online Jeopardy! test in order to be a possible contestant. The citizens of Nerdville demand that you get the story right! ;)

Thanks for having my back, Greg. :D

Thats what I mean't this Wednesday's game at WW.  I hope it's as exciting as the game in P-ville was minus the T's I wonder how much TV coverage it will get in Madtown given the Badgers are playing Iowa.

Jay Wilson, from Channel 3, will definitely be there Wednesday, and it's a good bet 27 and 15 will make all efforts to send a camera as well. Jay interviewed Coach Combs, Jeff Skemp and Mike Shaw yesterday for a story to air tonight previewing the game. I believe he will be in Whitewater today getting similar comments.

The rest of the WIAC definitely benefits from playing Point, Platteville, and Whitewater twice each.....  I have to admit I am a bit surprised to see Platteville that low however.  I thought they would have been in the Top 50 at least.

TVD is a good coach, its just that this story line of Oshkosh having the talent to succeed and not doing so is getting quite old. By succeed, I mean by winning the WIAC, or the conference tourney. This program should have been in the NCAA tourney a couple of times in the past five years, but didn't get the job done.

Here's hoping that Oshkosh can find a way to the second round in the tourney. Who knows, maybe they will shock someone if they get caught looking ahead.
Just out of curiosity, how many WIAC or NCAA Tournament appearances have the other athletic teams at UWO won/made in the past five years?  If you are going to get on the Men's basketball program for your perceived "lack of success" what about the other programs?

Welcome fellow Pointer fan!

Thanks!  Yeah, I frequently check up on latest WIAC gossip during the season and finally decided to register.

Cubs:

Everytime I come to Kolf to see the Titans, I see about 25 banners on the wall for national champinships in track and cross country, as well as gymnastics. Many are since I graduated only 8 years ago.  I was able to see all the All Americans and even Olympic Trials participants that came from these programs down in the lobby and on the website.  I also recall your soccer programs were of national calibre.  Baseball is also successful?

Unfortunately, basketball and football should sell lots of tickets.  Your track teams would likely outdraw your basketball team if they host a big invitational.

Are you a Titan coach or something?  You are sure defensive on this topic.

If an Oshkosh fan really wants to find a horse to beat, try the women's basketball program.  National contender to bottom feeder in just four short years. Yikes!

Let me preface this by saying I am not trying to discount any of the Championships won by the Track and Field teams.....

If you understand how the sport is scored at the National level, you would realize you only need a couple of athletes to succeed at the national meet.  For example, when the women won it in 2004, they had two athletes accumulate 41 fo their 57 team points, by winning three events and placing third and fourth in two more.  Is that a true "Team" championship?

Other than the aforementioned Women's Track and Field teams-Indoor and Outdoor- (Six National Championships) UW Oshkosh has won two National Championships in the last ten years.  One in Gymnastics and One in Men's Cross Country.

As far as being a Titan coach?  Nope, if I was, the Titans would be lucky to win even one game.

Sounds good, will do.  So, big WW and PLT game tonight!  Anybody gonna make it to the game?  I, myself live in California and will be squinting at the miniature screen on my laptop :( while listening to the Pointer game (if the online radio works this week)
