Old School, you haven't seen St. Thomas play then this year, they are very tough!

Mr. Downtown

For Platteville's sake, I hope the projections won't end up happening. That is a killer region.

Yeah I know I haven't seen them play this year...and playing there is really tough.  Obviously it's not impossible as shown last year.  It's hard to compare numbers but I know La Crosse took them into OT this year.  I just have common opponents to look at.  I'm not totally disregarding them, but I'm confident the Dawgs can beat them if we meet.  I'm hoping playing in a weaker conference hurts St. Thomas.

I've got my fingers crosses for Platteville and, especially, Whitewater.

Wow...

Whitewater v Elmhurst and Lawrence v Washington U @ Elmhurst (Wash U. women are hosting)

Stevens Point v Cornell and St. Thomas v Aurora @ St. Thomas

Platteville v Hope and Wheaton v Fontbonne @ Wheaton

Platteville and Whitewater could meet in the Sweet 16 and either could meet Point in the Elite 8.

Well the brackets are out, and the WIAC did indeed get three teams in.  (They actually got three teams in on the Women's side as well!!!)   :o

Anyway, just going off of memory, all thre teams are in the same "bracket" meaning only one WIAC team has a chance of reaching the Final Four.  They are split up enough however, that both Whitewater and Platteville would each have to win a pair of games before meeting in the Sweet Sixteen.

Point probably got the easiest 1st Round opponent in Cornell, which they should since they won both the Regular season and Tournament Championships.  Platteville draws a traditionally strong Hope squad, and Whitewater getss CCIW member Elmhurst.

Elmhurst hosts???

Even if you keep the same pod, I would imagine that UWW would be in a position to host before Elmhurst.

UWP should also host before Elmhurst

What if have a UWSP-UWP-UWW-Puget Sound sectional at Stevens Point?  There's not enough seats in Quandt for that.

They'll move it to the Bradley Center.

I don't think my last post went through, but WOW, all three WIAC's in the same sectional!!!!

Took a little bit of a look at the Elmhurst website, they lost to SP during the year and beat La Cross pretty handly, also they beat Wheaton and Aurora and Wash U too I believe, got two pretty tall and big players inside, but in my past tourney history of going to WW games in which we hosted a pod, guards seem to be the big deal in the tourney (especially ones who are on fire), thank you IWU and Loras for that...

GO HAWKS

I might make it down there, don't know yet cuz tickets seem to go fast enough and my gal has family in that area I think, but who knows.  Would be sweet to see WW get out of a pod and into the sweet 16 for once.

They may have to sell half price closed circuit TV tickets to watch the game in Berg.

Realisticly they would probably have a split session like they did in 2007 when they had the sectionals. Have Whitewater and Platteville play. Clear the gym then have Puget Sound and Stevens Point play.

Greek Tragedy

Maybe Whitewater didn't put in a bid.  Don't know the numbers, but at least Elmhurst was in their conference final, something that Whitewater was not.
