Interesting note, Elmhurst beat WW 98-91 a couple years ago (2006), and a couple players from each team played in that one (Mitchell, Vernon, Kolinske and a guy from Elmhurst who scored 22 points in that one, and the Blue Jays leading scorer was a soph back then and came off the bench), Vernon started the game but it was tied at halftime and then a big second half by Elmhurst put us away, so good to have some experience on that court (have never been there myself).  But if WW wins Friday then the gym should be cleared out for a possible Wisconsin takeover in Illinois for Lawrence/WW. My future brother in law lives in West Chicago, so thinking I might head down there only if WW wins Friday night and then a 7 p.m. tip time is perfect, except the toll ways (stupid Illinois).

They are Friday 6 and 8 pm and Saturday, no earlier than 5 pm local and no later than 8 pm local.  If the WIAC team isn't playing the host, they'll play earlier game...I'm guessing.

Host school must play the second game, by NCAA rules.

Mr. Downtown

anyone doing the pick'em this year?

Could use some help, like...could Puget Sound really beat Point? I really wish we knew the sites, cause no way if its played in Point. Really a toss up to me.

Congrats to Platteville and Eau Claire and a dual congrats to Point and Whitewater on their mens and or womans team making the NCAA Tournament.

Hopeing I can make the trek down to Chicago for the Platteville games.

I did the Pick'em, but I have never heard of about 40 of the 60 teams in the tournament, so I gave my homer pick and picked Platteville to go all the way.

As a devoted Warhawk fan an oldest member of the Goo Crew the upcoming game poses a problem especially for me. Our family has been legal guardians for one of the Elmhurst players since high school and he is one of our family.......consequently we will be rooting for the Bluejays against the Warhawks. It sould be a strange sensation and hopefully it will never happen again. Hope to see Voice,Badgerwarhawk, and the rest of the crew at the game. If looking for a good pregame bar in Elmhurst before the game try Doc Ryans on Spring Road(good sandwiches). See you all Friday....

In looking at the matchups, there are 3 powerful WIAC teams but none are hosting a game as far as I can see.is that correct? How much travel is involved in the D3 tournament? It appears that they set it up so that Stevens Point, Whitewater and Platteville may all end up possibly knocking each other off before the later round games. Is that by intent? The pairings are really not equal. Some of these teams would be hard pressed to win even a single game in the WIAC. Maybe the people who pair the games are tired of the history of success for Platteville, and Stevens Point in the tournament and they want to let the "little guys" get some of the limelight?

???
If this is the case, why hasn't the WIAC won more national championships, like every single year?  I think you are exaggerating a bit.  There are plenty of teams capable of winning the championship in the basketball bracket, unlike football, for example. Your argument about getting the "little guys" some of the limelight doesn't make any sense.  And, btw, this is Platteville's first appearance in the tournament since Bo left 10 years ago - not exactly overpowering. Whitewater had 2 national championships in the 80's, but not much since - not really a history of success in my book, either.

You are newish here obviously.  Read back a few pages and you can easily see why noone is hosting.  UWSP had the credentials to, but the women have their turn this time so they host while the men hit the road.  The NCAA always goes by geography and cost first, its not a new thing, and it certainly is not set up to screw over the WIAC teams...

Oy...so many times it needs to be repeated...so little time and or comprehension.
