FSN Wisconsin will be playing the WIAC championship game on March 7 at  6 pm.

My question is... who are they playing?  Point Platteville and Whitewater are already scheduled for that time slot!

And is FSN Wisconsin any good?  I hear that the guys they have would rather coach than play...

Man, I hate people like you.  Haven't grown out of the 12-year-old brat stage. Here's one for you - SPOILER ALERT - Whitewater will suffer a demoralizing loss this weekend.

It would be so demoralizing that I would expect we'd have no choice but to discontinue the program all together.

Considering there are THREE WIAC teams in the NCAAs starting this weekend, it's pretty quiet around here.  If said fans are traveling, this is the day to post...

I'm heading to Wheaton tomorrow afternoon.  Looking forward to it as well.  To any and all Pioneer fans heading down and attending tomorrow night 6PM matchup with Hope, the Pioneers are asking us to wear white.  Since there are three teams possibly wearing the Orange and Blue, and the Pioneers are wearing their home uniforms...wear whitewith them.

Go Pioneers!

had to change it back. Didn't work out real well when on the gray background...my bad!

Its interesting how the colors got matched up in the pods.  In the Wheaton pod there are three teasm with orange and blue.  In the St. Thomas pod there are three teams with Purple. 2 with Purple and White and one with Purple and Gold...

Completely random but interesting none the less...

Couple of key matchups this weekend.

I think Kori Vernon and the rest of the Whitewater big men have their hands full with Elmhurst's Brent Ruch.  If they can hold their own against him, they have a good shot at winning.  Looks like Burks is the other scoring threat and his size (6'4" 195 lbs) could cause problems for the Warhawks.  We all know what big guards can do to Whitewater (Loras, anyone?)...

I don't know anything about Cornell, but they are from the IIAC, just like Loras and Buena Vista.  As we all know, they knocked out the two WIAC reps in the past.  Looks like Tierney and LaDew are the scorers for them.  They average double figures with two others averaging just over 9 a game.  They have huge center in 6'11" Handke...3rd leading scorer.  So, that may pose a problem.

It sounds like Hope doesn't have an answer to Skemp, so he'll probably be the key there.  Jesse Reimink is the man, averaging 21 a game, with Peter Bunn averaging 11, the only other Dutchman in double figures.  Reimink is a 6'4" senior forward that leads the team in rebounds as well.  Looks like the Pioneers will have to shut him down, or at least, slow him down.

I can confirm that Marsh and Skemp are indeed Co-POY's in the WIAC this season.  I was thinking Marsh had a legitimate chance considering he was the leading scorer and rebounder in WIAC play.

It marks the first time since 2002-03 (Dworak and Melzer) that two players are sharing the top honor in the WIAC.

In other news, did anyone else notcie that UW Stout's Jerrel Enerson-Mathews is also playing baseball this season?  He was the starting CF in Game #2 of the Blue Devils sweep of UM-Crookston at the Metrodome.  He went 2x4 with a pair of doubles.  Looking back at previous years statistics, he wasn't listed, so a nice debut for JEM.

I'm traveling to Wheaton as part of the UWP pep band. We're the only school in our 4-team pod thats bringing a band, so that's cool. Wheaton is on Spring Break though, so my hopes of chillin at a bar with some of the locals is dashed.

BTW, With Wheaton on Spring Break this week/weekend, does anyone else think that the timing may be bad for the host school, esp. if UWP plays them in the 2nd rd?
