Does Wheaton's PA guy announce the score after EVERY basket?  That's kind of weird.

No

but as far as small college basketball goes, there just aren't many guards better than Raymond.  He is fun to watch and can beat you in many ways.

(The first link is funny - on the play before, Raymond missed a shot or had one blocked and the Elmhurst student section started chanting "overated" at him.)

I have to agree with you there, TQ.  Raymond is a heck of a good player.  I wouldn't do anything to inspire him.

Congrats to UWW for the win last night.  I was very impressed with the team, as I was with Stevens Point back in December.

Will be headed to the UWW - Wash U game in a few hours time and will be pulling for the Warhawks.

Karma to Voxelmhurst for good sportsmanship.

Great that our teams all won in the first round.  And what a set of matchups for the men!  Good luck to all of our fine teams.

I think the problem, at least this year, is that so many strong teams are in the same area.  We can talk all we want, but economics are a factor.  They just aren't going to ship a team to California or New York for competitive balance.  Remember, the NCAA makes big money on the D1 tourney and loses money on ours.

Point loses 53-50 at St. Thomas while Matt Goodwin misses two (?) free throws while  down 1 with 8 seconds to go...Wash U tops Whitewater....and Platteville is down 6 with a minute to play.  Looks like the WIACers will be done.

A travesty that the vWIAC teams are vall out only because of FF type matchups in the 2nd round. The seeding system has to change, and this is a CCIW fran talking. Our 2 conferences along with Wash U. and Lawrence all deserved a better chance to at least make it to week two.

voxelmhurst

Wow....11 combined points were the difference in three schools being eliminated.

This wasnt the "bracket of death"....it was far worse than that, a name for which any analogy escapes me.

I was pulling so hard for UWW in their game against Washington.  It was well worth the trip back to Elmhurst's gym and I dont think my heart has gotten pouding as fast for a non-Elmhurst game as it did tonight.

Hats off to UWW.   Look forward to some more CCIW-WIAC play next season.

Really enjoyed watching Platteville last night and then tonight via WETN.  What a great team...and what an awful bracket.

UW Platteville is an amazing team and it took an amazing game from Wheaton to beat them. It was a great game, fantastic to watch, though heartstopping at times. Props to all the Platteville fans that made it to the game, you were a great crowd..

I know this has been said many times, but this should have been a Final Four matchup. The game was definitely worthy of it.

I can only hope you'll be pulling for the orange and blue the rest of the way. :)

NWC fan here and all I can say is that this is a travesty.  I don't care that it's D3, something has to change.  Maybe more fans need to come out, support their teams, and generate more cash, I don't know what the solution is, but this bracket is ridiculous.

The Roop

I don't like it either but unfortunately it's not so much fan support as it is the NCAA following the criteria that D3 has laid down for themselves. The emphasis on regional play didn't come from the top after all and that's how brackets like this happen.
