Plus you are then making the tournament from 3 weekends into 2, and to get to the final 8 you have to win 3 games in 3 days....thats brutal.
Actually, it's three games in four days. They go Friday, Saturday, Monday for the regionals. Then they take a whole week off and go Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday for the Elite Eight.

Point still taken though.

One thing that has been pretty quiet this year for UWP is the play of Charlie Lohoff.  He was a good scorer the past couple of years and has stepped into the PG position at the expense of some more visible stats (namely, points).  He can still light it up, though, as shown in the regular season finale against Point.  He might need to step up and hit a few big shots tonight for Pville to prevail.

All said, I think Platteville is one of the most complete teams in the country with great inside/outside presence, methodical offense, and good defense.  It will take a really good team or a team with an amazing night to knock them off.  ...and I think Wheaton might just fit one or both of those criteria tonight!  I'm looking forward to seeing the game.

And one did.  I know that this seems maybe a little late since it is Monday, but my first true chance a computer.  Actually first off, I'm glad you noticed Charlie Lohoff.  I couldn't agree with you more.  We all know how important Skemp, is or I guess at this point was important, but IMHO Lohoff is the Team MVP.  Quite honestly a lot of what happened for Platteville this year, doesn't happen if Charlie Lohoff isn't on the floor, period.

Such a good game on Saturday night, but I think the game could've been better if there were more consistency from the stripe shirts on the floor.  Please do not take this the wrong way, because either way you slice it Wheaton was the better team that night.  Pioneers didn't make enough shots to win.  But, I also think that the officials' ego seem to say the game was more about them, rather than the two great teams on the floor.

I also want to commend two groups of people.  First, the people at Wheaton.  You were gracious hosts.  Your facility is beautiful and you passion towards your team was a good sight to see.  Should be interesting to see how things shape up this weekend for you now that Spring Break is over.

Next, the Platteville community, university, and our Alumni.  Came out in strong, and vocal number this weekend and it was great to see such support away from home for a great group of young men.  This team did a lot of great things not just this season, but over their careers.  I am proud of them and proud of you.  Lets keep this train rollin huh?  ;D

Sounds like cheese & cracker time.... :'(

Yeah I guess it is, but you know what?  We lost, so deal with it.  We love our teams and losing not something we take lightly, especially when it ends the season.  I'm guessing you do not feel the same about your team, but that is your problem and not mine.

Thank you for your gracious gesture.

Well, if someone wants to pony up a half million bucks or so, I'm sure the D3 people would be glad to seed nationally.

Until then, deal with reality.
I'm not sure I agree necessarily.

Division 2 has 8 regions throughout the US.  They seed 8 teams per region and host the NCAA's at the highest seeded team within that region.

Nothing wrong with that!

Certainly isn't going to cost $500M.

Lastly, I was responding to "Voice" who was rather condensending towards the 3 WIAC teams!

Not sure why you considered my comment condecending towards the WIAC teams. I simply was pointing out that when you have three games played against two Top 10 teams in the nation, and the higher rated teams all win, the pollsters are doing their job very well.  All three games were as close as the teams were in the polls.  just thought it was an interesting fact.

As far as me taking a shot at the WIAC teams, that is preposterous.

That thought never entered my thinking...wrong to even suggest it as far as I'm concerned.

...btw, thanks for another season of great coverage of Warhawk sports...will some regular season baseball be broadcast this spring?  +k

We had a string of a couple years where the D-III title game outdrew the D-II title game. It's a tenuous comparison but that's where our admittedly D-III centered promo draws its "more fans than Division II" claim from. :)

Look for radio broadcasts of UWW's baseball's WIAC Tournament and NCAA Tournament radio coverage as in past years. With early season poor weather and multiple rescheduled games, it makes scheduling regular season games very difficult.

A travesty that the vWIAC teams are vall out only because of FF type matchups in the 2nd round. The seeding system has to change, and this is a CCIW fran talking. Our 2 conferences along with Wash U. and Lawrence all deserved a better chance to at least make it to week two.

Thanks for including Lawrence in that company, I think they belong.  This tournament needs to be seeded, period.

The Division 2 set-up would be worse than we have now. Schools aren't allowed to leave their region for the tournament. At least D3 has the possibility of that happening. This is what the first round match-ups would have possibly looked likee using D2's set up.

At St. Thomas

#1 St. Thomas vs. Cornell
#7 Puget Sound vs. #8 Whitewater

#4 Stevens Point vs. Claremont-M-S
#5 UW-Platteville vs. #21 Whitworth

At Washington U

#2 Washington U vs. Aurora
#20 Lawrence vs. #24 Transylvania

#3 Wheaton vs. Fontbonne
#19 Elmhurst vs. Augustana

Does that look any better than what we had this year?

So at first glance who does everyone think are leading favorites at the moment?

WW, UWSP, UWP and UWO all seem to have lost a lot.

UWL, UWS and UWEC all seem to have solid cores returning.

Lots of elite talent leaving though!

Lighten up, Francis....   There are a couple of good nuggets in the article below.  The last sentence is especially fitting.  Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to my own board and beg for Karma points which have been gobbled up faster than a bowl of cheese doodles in Manitowoc.

Wonder what Harvey Mackay would say in gloating in the face of a defeated opponent?  Plus I would say Scottie that if you have to beg for lost karma points, you yourself are not a very good loser.  Shall we refer to Mr. Mackay again?
