According to Platteville's Webstie the deadline for applying for the Basketball Coaching position was Monday the 18th.  Does anyone know who applied and the time line?

It is interesting to look through the schedules that were released. Stout plays the weakest non-conference schedule I have ever seen. Northland, Silver Lake, and Viterbo. I guess they at least play Lewis & Clark in the tournament out west. Also they might play Marian University in there own tournament. They are the only in state non-conference team that might give them some trouble.

What a great recruiting class for Stevens Point. They are still my pick to win the WIAC next year. Coach S seems to be a great teacher and will have a great team again.

Apparently they are going to interview as many as five people and that Will Ryan's name keeps popping up a lot. The top assistant Gard, Adrian from Edgewood, and Lance Randall are going to interview. Doesn't it seem like Lance Randall applies for everything?

Randall wanted the 2nd shift job at the Oshkosh Culvers, but when he was denied, he applied here.

UW-Platteville narrows search to five finalists
 
After sifting through 97 total applicants, officials from UW-Platteville have narrowed the list of candidates to replace Paul Combs as the Pioneers head coach to five.
 
They include North Dakota State assistant Will Ryan, UW-Platteville assistant Jeff Gard, Edgewood College head coach Todd Adrian, Monroe High School coach Pat Murphy and Cedarburg High School coach Lance Randall.
 
Interviews for the position will take place next week with a new coach expected to be on board by the end of the week.
 
Combs recently left Platteville in order to take over the head coaching position at NCAA Division II Wayne State.   

Per Mark Miller at Wishoops ... no suprises on this list ... Ryan and Gard have to be the two favorites IMO!

UW-Platteville has selected five finalists for its men's basketball/lecturer position from the initial pool of 97 applicants.

The five, in alphabetical order, are:

Todd Adrian, Edgewood College Head Coach
Jeff Gard, UW-Platteville Assistant Coach
Pat Murphy, Monroe High School Coach
Lance Randall, Cedarburg High School Coach
Will Ryan, North Dakota Assistant Coach

UWP is replacing Paul Combs, who left after six years to move on to NCAA Division II Wayne State following the Pioneers' 23-6 season.

Earlier in the week I stated that Will Ryan was a leading candidate, and ultimately I think the job will be his IF he wants it.  According to my source, this is the short list of candidates at this time (obviously without knowing which outsiders will put their name in the ring:
1.  Will Ryan
2.  Jeff Gard
3.  Todd Adrian
4.  Pat Murphy  (Sleeper-Monroe HS Boys Head Basketball Coach)

Whiel my source may have been off on the Ziemer kid, it looks like he nailed the list of finalists!!!!
