I'm not quite sure how to do "record vs. top 25."  Is it the current top 25?  Would it be against the top 25 teams at the time they played? (ex, Point beat Whitworth and Puget Sound.  They might end up dropping out of the rankings... so is that a win against a ranked team or not?)

Gotta count as a Top 25 at the time they play.

I think so too... But I think that would be tough to keep track of 'cause it's gotta be kept real time instead of going back and looking!

Not necessarily, ps.  The previous week's Top 25 is always available.  All you have to do it click on whatever week it is that you're looking for.  It doesn't really matter to me whether you do it or don't.  I just thought I'd point out that they are available on the website.  At any rate thanks for the time you took to do what you've already done.  I appreciate the effort.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Just trading woulda shoulda couldas.

In fact, an already-inactive Helland looked like he wanted to cry during warm-ups for the Martin Luther game; he was too far away to see facial expressions at UMD. He seemed to play with a great deal of enthusiasm in Madison, so I'm guessing this bench-warming situation is not satisfying from his point of view. Another thing about him: he's new to the team, but I think he either reflects the cohesiveness we have seen and hope to see throughout the season OR he's a big part of it. I like him, and I've only truly seen him play in one game. Definitely a hustle-type player--or was. I guess it's difficult to show hustle with your butt glued to the pine.

Trust me, I know the kid, not playing is killing him!  He is a true team player and will support his teammates til the end.  Once he gets back, you'll get to see what a gamer he is...he is a very positive addition to this team and provides a solid inside/outside option for the Yellowjackets.

I only saw Helland play once in hs and was very impressed with his game.  When I found out he would be playing in the WIAC I was pleased but wished he would have picked Stout.  It would have been a natural.  His mom is a Menomonie grad, a great long distance runner, and a former student.  Please don't hold that last thing against her or her son.  He will be a nice addition to the WIAC.  PR, keep me posted.

Despite 38pts and 14rebs from DJ Marsh, UWO falls 90-87 to Puget Sound.  UWO led almost all the way until a 10-0 run by UPS that ended with under 5min left, which put them up by 6.  UWO got the lead down to 1 in the last minute but wasn't able to pull it out.  Point beat this team last week (I think by 15) out west.

The next game is UWEC vs. St John's

I was hoping the WIAC would go 4-0 at this classic.

EC falls to St. Johns by a score of 68-66.  This game very similar to the UWO game.  EC lead almost the whole way and early on in the 2nd half it looked like EC could very well blow the game open, leading by 15.  SJU came storming back, actually taking an 8 point lead.  EC didn't quit and ended up taking the lead with 12sec left.  SJU hit the game winner with 4sec left.

Well, 2 great games at the Kolf this afternoon, but dissapointing on how both WIAC teams lead virtually the entire way and ended up losing.

UWO and UWEC switch opponents tomorrow afternoon.

UWL beat Viterbo Tuesday night in a squeaker.  Tony Mane really lit up the V Hawks with 30 points, including the winning basket as time expired.

I thought La Crosse may have been a bit tight, and Viterbo seemed fired up.  It was my opinion that we had much more talent.

EC bounces back with a rather comfortable victory over Puget Sound.  The game was pretty close until the Golds made a big run at the end of the half to take a 40-28 lead.  EC kept their double digit lead throughout the 2nd half.  It sounded like EC just dominated on the inside.  Both Probst and Fofana with double doulbles

This is a big win for EC.  Puget Sound wreaks havoc on bad teams.  I wonder about this UPS team, though, because they don't seem to be scoring at the same level as past seasons.  Holding them to 28 either means that UPS couldn't hit anything or that they played really good defense and took care of the ball.

When listening to the Point game against them last week, I thought the Point announcer mentioned that UPS lost quite a bit from last season.

UWO falls to SJU.  UWO goes 0-2 on their home floor this weekend.

I think that may be true... but they were still projected #2 in their league and have been good more often than not over the past 6-7 years.  Still, though, I think I remember hearing that they're young, and so they likely would struggle early.  The #18 ranking was based on past experiences and this team isn't the #18 team yet (though perhaps they will be).

That's tough right before conference play...  2-3 in the non-conference.  They're going to get their W's vs. Silver Lake and Finlandia (play 'em each twice), but I'm not sure who they'll get in conference.  Even though they made some adjustments, they're still just not that good, or so it would appear.

Superior starts slow and builds up speed against St Scholastica. Nice balance in scoring. Bench gets a chance to play. Smith shows great leadership on the floor; Ben Aalfs is playing consistently nice games.

BYU and Utah in football overtime while UWS is tied at 1 with St Thomas men in hockey, second period. Weather today: niiiiice.
