I was impressed by Tillema's play against us.

We're off until the new year regarding conference games.

One observation--Point has a weekday doubleheader with Oshkosh.  Kind of strange.

Checking the boxscores as I'm doing the Fantasy League stats and noticed that Jacob Schlub didn't play.  Anyone got any 411 on that?

La Crosse scores their last 22 points from the line?!!  Wow.

Too bad they can't or don't recruit those kinds of players and those they get they run off!

That's a little harsh.  :'(

It probably is ... and cetainly wasn't attacking anyone but IMO for as good a program as UWSP is ... to not have any decent post players since Kaslow seems to be too much of a trend.

Serious question ... do you think that a lack of a post player could be a reason for their relative lack of post season success?

It certainly did when Wash U came to the Quandt in 2007 and Troy Ruths basically dominated and won the game for them. 6'8" Matt Smith is not playing this year, but is registered at the school. He may have to sit out a year due to playing for DII Winona State last year before he was injured. I don't know the situation there, but he was announced as a recruit earlier this year http://athletics.uwsp.edu/news/2009/5/6/MBB_0506091213.aspx?path=mbball.
The Smith kid is one of the three announced recruits that left (either quit and/or were run-off --- depending on your perspective) prior to the beginning of the season.  He did go through the camp with the team, participated in the UW-Parkside scrimmage but left before the Purple-Gold game.

Dan Tillema's dunk made it to youtube.  Swampgoon gave me the news.

We were sitting behind that basket, so it looked pretty awesome when it was coming right at you, but at this angle, it still doesn't look half bad!  :o

You're still sixteen posts shy of having power over karma, wcbsas, so don't worry about it yet.

You don't have too many guys getting posterized in D-III.  That was sweet, from any angle!

Kalsow had a dunk on a guy at Eau Claire who jumped with him and while in the air, realized he was in trouble and shied away and covered his head as he got obliterated by a 2 handed dunk.  That guy basically just placed himself in the picture and didn't affect the dunk that much.  Tillema took off and dunked over the guy.  Very impressive.  And this guy's a sophomore.  I think he's regained his basketball sense, or whatever you call it, if it was lost!

He was very very good at Randolph ... its too bad he was forced to play a power position (defensively) as Randolph had almost no size his junior and senior year.  Extremely athletic.  UWSP is fortunate to have him as he is considered a Division 2 type of guy!
