Koonkaew didnt play in the second half, he left with an ankle injury.
So what's the chance of Koonkaew playing on Wednesday?

I've got a pretty strong grip on that...  Don't know if anybody but UWRF will be able to wrestle it from me!

Wow.  That should fire up the crowd AND the team.  Just what we need as we try for the upset.

Not that an upset is very likely.  ::)

Greek Tragedy

Wed 2/3/10

UW-Eau Claire  @ UW-River Falls
Last time out, Eau Claire topped River Falls 74-68.  Colin Boone led the way with 18 points as three others also scored in double figures.  River Falls was led by Jontae Koonkaew's 20 and Jake Voeltz's double-double of 16 and 11.  Eau Claire has been alternating wins and losses beginning with a win against Buena Vista on Dec. 30th.  They are 2-3 (also alternating wins and losses) the last five conference outings, so they are due for a win.  River Falls, on the other hand, is in big trouble losing their last four conference games.  Since their last meeting with Eau Claire, they'll be without the services of Aaron Anderson and Jontae Koonkaew but will have limited action from Jake Voeltz.  Wade Guerin, fresh off his Player of the Week honors, has been carrying the team averaging a double-double.  It's at home, but I don't see how River Falls can pull out a win here.

UW-La Crosse  @ UW-Whitewater
Whitewater is coming off a loss to Stout at home and hopes to bounce back against a La Crosse team that has been up and down all year. Whitewater won the first battle in La Crosse, 71-59 as the Warhawks built a double-digit halftime lead.  Five players, led by Dustin Mitchell's 17 and 9 paced the visitors to an easy win.  They were up by as many as 25 in the 2nd half.  On the other hand, La Crosse has won just two of it's last six conference games after starting conference schedule 4-1, with the only loss being to Whitewater.  It's been a two-man show with Stratton and Mane leading the scoring in all but one game this year.  Like Eau Claire, the Eagles have also been alternating wins and losses the last five games.  The Eagles haven't gotten any better since the first time these two met, so I don't see how Whitewater doesn't come out with the home win.

UW-Platteville @ UW-Oshkosh
Just a game and a half separates these two teams despite the Pioneers being in 4th and the Titans being in 8th.  Platteville is coming off a big home win against La Crosse to stop the bleeding of a 2-game skid.  They destroyed Oshkosh at home by 20 (67-47) after blowing the game out in the 2nd half.  Hanson and Shaw combined for 40 in the win.  Part of the reason Oshkosh scored just 47 is because Oshkosh's Marsh was held to just 8 points on 2-12 shooting.  Obviously Marsh and Co. will have to do a bit more at Kolf.  Oshkosh is on a two-game roll with Marsh getting a lot of support lately.  The Titans had 4 players score over 9 points in the win this past weekend and four players in double figures in the win against Eau Claire, both on the road.  Look for Oshkosh to make it interesting with a big win at home.

UW-Stevens Point  @ UW-Stout
Going beyond Whitewater and the visitors coming into town, is there a hotter team than Stout?  After a forgetful 0-4 start, the Blue Devils are 5-2 since then including a huge road win against Whitewater, something Point couldn't accomplish.  Stout will try to avenge an opening conference day loss against Point that resulted in a 80-59 beat down when they were down 20 at half time.  Enerson-Matthews led the way as Hostetter and Buchholtz combined for just 7 points (all by the former) on 3-11 shooting.  Hostetter and Buchholtz have played very well recently with Hostetter, not Enerson-Matthews, actually leading the team in scoring.  Another factor could be big man Mahlon Thomas.  He went for 12 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks against Whitewater and Dustin Mitchell.  Point took out their frustations on Superior after losing to Whitewater the previous game day.  The Pointers were up 49-14 at the break and never looked back.  The big men from Point have all stepped up and contributed recently.  Players like Hoelzel, Ross Forman, Dan Tillema and Nick Krull have all put up some nice points and rebounding stats.  Stout's been on a roll lately, but I don't think they have enough horses to stop the dogs.
