Possibly the ankle that he sprained vs Point on Saturday. I was surprised he played the 2nd half in that game, but it was still fresh and adrenaline was flowing no doubt.

Looks like Hanson is up to some of his usual stuff, as he picks up a technical late in the first half, following a steal by one of his teamates....

Jake Smith carries Superior into the second round. I certainly hope some of the other starters wake up. Dustin Ritchie outscores combined score of three starters. Bless his heart...and hand.

Looks like Stout survives with a 3 at the buzzer by Enerson-Matthews!

I was right in front of me,  as he was dribbling the ball and was fouled by like 3 players he ask refs no fouls there you got to be kidding

a gam of 3pters 11 for 23 for stout   11 for 24 platte

Mane was on crutches.  It was the ankle injury from Saturday.

Smith was unstoppable.  La Crosse had several players step up in Mane's absence.  Stratton had 20, no surprise there.  But Andrew Haass chipped in another 20, and Derek Wilcox had 18 (or vice versa?).  Cory Degner also had a fine game.  Al Chery played in the first half, fairly well, but saw little action late.  Probably because the front line players in the game were doing most of the scoring.

I'd like to congratulate Superior on winning a hard-fought game and wish them well in the next round.

I guess we, UW-Whitewater, get UW-Superior on Thursday night..

Yeah...this reseeding stuff isn't any good.  It has nothing to do with the fact I'd rather have the Pointers play the lower seed, Superior, but why PUNISH them and make them go play the top seed.

I'd say if you make #4 Stout go play #1 Whitewater, while #6 Superior gets to play #2 Stevens Point, you'd be punishing Stout, wouldn't you?

Congrats Cubs, you called it all along.  Also congrats on getting a rise out of me, as I'm sure that is what you post was intended for.  Seems to me, I've certainly heard worse be said in games and no foul called.  I'm calling last nights game a conspiracy to favor the home team.  ::)  How else does the home team get a player on the other team to get a Tech for asking the official to tell the joke again?  That seems a little off for this guy to comprehend anyway.  All I can say, is that it must have been a really bad joke or the official is a really poor joke teller.

PS.  I don't think that getting a tech in the first half counts as being a huge play in this game.  I just don't.  A huge play in that game was JEM hitting a three at the buzzer to win it.  With that Technical, they got the two throw, but UWP gets ball back on point of interuption, so if they score, or if they hit their free throws, its a wash.  If you look at the stats, this game could have and probably should have been decided as the two teams combine to shoot 23-39 from the line.  UWP 11-17 for 65%.  They shot 78.8% on season.  Stout was 12-22 for 54.5%.  They have shot 68.8% on the season.  Both teams underperformed there, but that is also one area that either team could've taken the game.  There are a lot of if and buts about this game, but the only thing that matters is that JEM hit a three at the buzzer that made him the Hero and not the Zero in Menomonie.

I'd also like to thank the now departing Pioneer Seniors for a good run this season and for all their hard work and dedication over the past four seasons.  You were a big part of getting the Pioneers back into the NCAA tournament last season.  You're all fine young men who I am proud to have apart of the Pioneer Family.
