Let's see, women's Pointer game in De Pere at 5:30.  1 1/2 hr. game, done at 7 pm, drive like a madman to Quandt for an 8 pm tipoff for the men.  That's pushing it.  :P ;D :D ;) :'(
I would expect the UWSP women to make short work out of Minn-Morris.  I think you can leave that game early.

Question for the WIAC fans, i'm filling out my bracket and have no idea how to judge Whitewater.  I see them (thru stats only, i havent watch any games) as having a below average defensive team that could get tripped up by Defiance or Wooster who are good offensively.  Yet, i completed a make shift RPI which shows whitewater as No. 2 in the country, (wooster at 28 and Defiance at 52).  Obviously whitewater plays good competition. Do you have thoughts on their defense, how should i judge them?

Actually, she's letting me go to the Pointer game.  So, it's just a matter of me deciding if I want to go to the women's game in De Pere first or go to the Hope/St. Norb's clash prior to the men's game.

I reasoned with her!  Point, most likely, won't host the following weekend and she has a swim meet she's coaching that she wants me to go to.  So, I get this weekend, she gets next weekend!

Here's my completely unbiased view.  :D

The WARHAWKS finished third in our league in scoring defense, second in scoring margin, second in field goal defense and first in three point field goal defense.  Our points allowed may be a little higher because of our style of play which is uptempo and generally allows opponents some extra possessions.  We allowed the second highest number of field goal attempts in our league.

Just looking at the stats the WARHAWKS average 78 points offensively.  Defiance's average is 79.2 and Wooster's is 72.9.  Defensively the WARHAWKS allow 68.8 points per game.  Defiance allows 69.7 points and Wooster 64.2.    Of course none of this accounts for the difference in the level of competition the teams face though we do have the best strength of schedule of the three as you've noted.

Regardless our staff and players are acutely aware that we have our work cut out for us if we hope to advance.

You've learned the art of comprimise OS.  You'll find that a handy thing in marriage.  :D

I'm planning on running some number comparisons of the pods of the two WIAC teams when I get home tonight regarding offensive/defensive efficiency.  As BW said, they're going so be skewed somewhat by SOS, so they may need to be taken with a grain of salt.

I don't know that the contrast in style is going to be that great.  I know WW likes to push it, but they also have the ability to play possession by possession, as shown in the 3 tight games with SP and they'll need that in the playoffs.

Good luck to both WW and SP in the dance.  I know you will represent the conference well.

someone asked about Hope playing on Sunday.  I'm not sure about that, but I know Hope is from the less conservative branch of the Dutch Reformed Church.  Calvin is from the other, so has no football.

There's no such thing as "the Dutch Reformed Church." Hope is affiliated with the Reformed Church of America; Calvin is affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church. You're right, though, that the RCA tends to be less conservative than the CRC.

Correct.  Both schools however, have policies against playing any sports (including practices) on Sundays.

Dustin Mitchell wins POY.....

Pat Miller wins COY.....

Andrew Haas wins Scholar Athlete.....

My only objection, is how does Wade Guerin NOT make the 1st team?  He  averaged 15 and 9 in WIAC play, which ranked 8th and 1st respectively. WOW!!!

If they held true to form the first three players listed, Mitchell, Moses and Marsh in that order, were the finalists for POY.  They would have been the three highest vote getters and a second vote determined the POY.

I didn't do too badly with my predictions getting 8 of the top 10 correct, missing Jared Jenkins and Eric Hostetter, though I did have both of them on my 15 player roster.

Congrats to all.

Who's Dustin Miller?  ;)
