Maybe PioneerHoopsfan can confirm this, but I heard over the weekend that G Shane Kieler has decided to graduate early, and will not be playing for Platteville this season.  That could be a bit of a blow to the Pioneers, as I would assume he was penciled in to start this season after the graduation of both Curt Hanson and Mike Shaw.

It's actually been on our site for a while: http://www.uwplatt.edu/athletics/basketball/mens/1011/quickfacts.html. Shane received a great career job opportunity offer late in the spring, and he went through the graduation ceremonies in May. Our only regret is that we didn't get a chance to honor him on Senior Night because he did a nice job on and off the court for the Pioneers. He is a real class act, and we wish him well in his new position.

As far as the championship DVDs, it's a lot harder to get the ones in basketball than football. ESPN always does the football, so you know whom to contact there. The basketball rights seem to change year-to-year, and some years nobody national televises the final, unfortunately. Our 1999 DVD was done by our student station, who made the trip to Salem. If you can find who televised it, e-mail me, and I can at least give you the contact information.

The past few years it's been CBS College Sports.

There are four finalists for the UW-La Crosse athletic director position: two D-I administrators, one D-III AD from the East Coast and a lawyer who is a former NFL player.

Interesting that there's (apparently) not one finalist with ties to UWL, the WIAC or even the State of Wisconsin.

Read their bio's and as I said on the football board, that's simply not accurate.

Why has UWO been so quiet about their AD search compared to LAX?  Not saying that LAX has been in the media about it much at all, but why would UWO keep things so hush hush?

Can't answer the UWO question but UWL certainly appears to have a better group of finalists than UWRF had, on paper at least.

I have copies.  Well, I'm getting them copied.  CBS sports doesn't have any copies, at least that's what they told me when I asked them and they weren't planning on replaying the game at all.  But, I talked to Coach Semling and he was able to get me a copy, which I gave to someone else to make more copies.

Greek Tragedy

After the initial weekend of that summer league pro-am, I didn't pay much attention to it.

I got bored and ran through some boxscores and saw that Dupree Fletcher and Miles McKay also played in it.
