UW-Stevens Point's Jared Jenkins and UW-LaCrosse's Tony Mane named to D3hoops.com preseason all american third and fourth teams respectively.....http://d3hoops.com/awards/all-americans/men/preseason-2011

Does Jenkins play baseball too?  Probably track.

He's a heck of a wide receiver, I know that much.

Jenkins just plays football and basketball.  He's a heck of an athlete that could easily do jumping events for track and field as well.  With his size, strength and jumping ability, he is such a mismatch for cornerbacks.  As a Point grad who got to see plenty of Jenkins athletic exploits, I would like to thank Oshkosh coaches for not allowing him to play both sports and steering him to Point.

Interesting that the Lawson twins are listed on UW-Parkside's roster.  Javar is definitely a D1 talent and will be missed at UWW.

I heard Javar was on Parkside's team awhile ago, but I didn't think both were.  Does anyone know what happened with the twins at whitewater and why they left?

Brian Carroll and I went to the exhibition game in Madison.  No surprise that the Badgers had their way with us, mostly.

Mane looked good, and the kid from Aquinas is impressive.

I'm hoping it's not true but I heard today that Jenkins is not playing basketball.  Guess I can't blame him but would be nice to see him back.  Point will miss that 2nd lock down defender along with Krull but should still be just fine w/o him.  Just hoping the guy who told me didn't have one too many beers in him today but he's pretty good friends with Jenkin's crowd.

I think it's all just speculation until we hear from Jenkins or from Coach Semling.  UWSP has their first coaches radio show on Monday, I'm sure if the decision is made by that point, we'll hear about it then.

If Jenkins does not play, that may mean that Brady Hannigan, who caught 3 passes for TD's today in the game vs. EC, is the only combination fb/bb player in the WIAC.

UWRF. Checked out the preview. UT Udo is not a JC transfer, he was previously at D2 Univ. of Mary in the Northern Sun.

Was Van Dellen the rigid one in this?  What an error if he was.   :'(

If he was ""definitely" a D1 talent he would be on a D1 roster someplace.
They left because it was cheaper to attend Parkside.

My source says that it was Van Dellen who didn't want him playing both.

I disagree Javar wanted to play with his brother.  They are both listed on UWP's roter but neither played against Concordia St. Paul in the first game.

The WIAC season gets underway tonight! UW-EC has lots of new faces, including transfers from UMD (Ivan Franklin), Whitewater (Nick Craggs) and St. Norbert (Matt Coenen & James Pfitzinger). The main returnees are Nick Bartlett (out with a foot injury), Amadou Fofana, and Marcus Ruh. Ruh moves to the point and will have a lot of responsibility for a soph. There are only two seniors on the roster.
