And just to give some perspective on Point's last two wins and on the next two games...

As of the last Massey Rating (through last Tuesday) Point was 2nd.  I have to think they'll drop at least below St. Thomas after their loss form last Wednesday... but I think they'll stay in the top 5.

They beat Ramapo, who was 35th.

Colorado College (who was without their leading scorer at 19.5/game) was 85th.

Simpson (tomorrow night's opponent) is 227.

And Linfield is 58.

Of course, you don't want to take any opponent lightly, but it seems like you'd want to play the first 3 in that order... and it was good to both get guys at the end of the bench PT today AND to give the starters some rest.

I'm a little concerned about that Linfield game...  They should be better than CC (even at full strength), and it will be game #4 on day #4...  Hopefully Point can come out and establish a decent lead early tomorrow too, so they can rest the starters some more.

But... maybe not, because Simpson beat Linfield last night, 68-58.  Simpson was up by 22 in the first half and 18 with 3:20 to go.  Meh, what does Massey know... he had Linfield winning 79-70!

They (Linfield) play tonight against Immaculata in a game that doesn't project well for Immaculata... but that's why you play the game!

What, 4 games in 4 days isn't enough they now move the game UP 90 minutes? ???

Yep!  There was no explanation why, either (at least on the Point website).

I wonder if the game was just noted incorrectly on Point's website... because on the Cactus Jam site, the schedule has the game at 3:30 (MT)... though that might have been changed yesterday, I'm not sure.

The Coach's guide has the same schedule.

Wow... After Linfield (Massey rated #58) dropped the first game of the Cactus Jam on Monday to Simpson (Massey #227) 68-58, they dropped the next one to Immaculata (Massey #315) 69-65.

They were 5-3 coming in... with their three losses coming to Whitworth in a laugher (90-57) and to Corban (NAIA II team, 6-0 at the time, now 10-5) and Warner Pacific (also NAIA-II, 5-1 at the time, now 7-5), the latter two by 3 and 1 points respectively.

But Simpson and Immaculata just aren't very good teams (Simpson is now 4-7 after their loss last night to Whitman and Immaculata is now 3-6).  Interesting results.

Yeah, Linfield isn't good especially if Wiser is off or shut down.  Keep an eye on Pacific Lutheran and Lewis and Clark to test Whitworth in conf. tournament.

Harris isn't playing today for Point....He is sick, coaches don't know if it is the flu or what...They hope to have him back tomorrow but that is also in question.

RF 85, Macalester 58.

Aaron Anderson scored 12 pts on four 3's. Brian Kimble had 10. Twelve players scored for RF.

Sioux Falls tomorrow night, a much tougher opponent.

I know I've also had the "flu" after a couple of nights in Vegas!

JK, I'm sure his flu is unrelated to what I had/did.

Now that it appears that Thomas is "officially" done playing for Stout, one thing continually crosses my mind.

What was the point of having him play the first part of the season?  With the majority of the WIAC schedule being played in January and February, wouldn't it have made more sense to play other players and let them gain some experience in the hopes of having them be more "ready" once they were forced into action?

I agree, doesn't make much sense to me either.
