Where would a Pointer come in?

Just givin' ya crap 'cause there weren't any Pointers... I agree that there aren't any guys that stand out stat-wise because Point is so balanced.

Just wondering and I know there is not a lot of traffic on here from Yellow Jacket fans, but they cant be real happy with where they are sitting about now.  Coach Flora led them to a good season last year and right now they are in a dog fight to even make the playoffs.  Seems to me as if they are underachieving.

Any thoughts from the North country.

Also I know TVD and Terry Gibbons are institutions at their respective programs, but these are two of the more high profile programs in the WIAC and they have not been very good. Eau Claire especially.  Does the administration not care or is there any heat in the kitchen.

I would also have thought that Berkhof prior to this year if Bowen had not been the AD would have felt a little heat.  Clearly he is making a big statement to his new boss.

New AD's all over the league do any of them feel any heat to get their teams to preform at a higher level?

In D-III, and even in the competitive WIAC, I think it's pretty rare for guys to get the ax.  I've only followed the conference (and D-III for that matter) for a little over a decade, but I think that people being forcibly removed is a rarity.  Most leave of their own accord, sometimes to other opportunities "higher" up or for other reasons that don't have to do with basketball... but usually it's their own decision.

I seem to recall hearing a statement from Eau Claire that Gibbons would have a job there as long as he wanted.

Is Jenkins back for Point or was that an error in box score?  That would be a tremendous boost for Point's chances of going to final 4 if he's back.

I've gotta think that's an error in the box score... I didn't catch any of the game broadcast but do see the foul in the box.

Coach Semling said in the last coach's radio show that there's pretty much no chance Jenkins will be with the team this year.

I'm listening to the post game right now and I'll be interested to see if he's mentioned.

By the way, Point holds off Oshkosh 74-70.

Oshkosh scored 46 in the second half and got a shot at a 3 with under 15 seconds down 3 but they missed it and 'Dan Tillema sky'd for the rebound and then got fouled and made 1/2 ft's...  Schrimpf's 3 with about 6 seconds missed and that was the game.

I'm waiting on a text from a good friend who hangs out with Jenkins to see if he knows.  It has to be an error.  Last I heard he was playing for the Scandinavia Vikings BABA team on Saturdays along with Former great Steve Hicklin.

Hicklin is coaching high school basketball in southern WI... so I don't think that Jenkins would be playing anything with him!

And Jared just updated his twitter account an hour ago... so unless he was doing it from the bench, I don't think that he was in Oshkosh!

Yes, I'm having trouble with the LaX live stats too... I listened to a bit of the EC radio feed, the Eagles were up 14 at the half, I believe.

And see above for the UWP/Super score... meh, I'll just repost it, 70-59 Platte in OT

No Jared Jenkins.

Oshkosh rallied from 15 down to make it a great game. Dan Tillema played his best game of the year and Point hung on to win. Uneven game from the refs. I couldn't believe what I was seeing on some of Oshkosh's 3 point shots.  The FLOP. Twice I saw it performed, once by Schrimpf who got the phantom call and once by Kellner who didn't. Amazing that they are coached to do that. Kellner's flop was a great piece of acting, Dan T was at least a foot away from his hand and I saw Kellner whip his hand back and then fall backwards looking for the call. Again missed free throws nearly cost the Pointers. 11 for 20 in the second half including 3 misses in the last minute. Dan Tillema with 24, Harris with 17 and Lou with 11 and 9 boards led point.

Oshkosh played much better this time around and were led by Flanigan with 20 and Washington with 11  plus 11 boards.

Uneven game from the refs.

Coach Semling said that the game was called really loose in the first half and somebody got a concussion...  Do you know who it was?

Then, in the second half, they called it really close.

Dang I had my hopes up that Jenkins was back playing.  Kind of interesting that it showed Jenkins playing 2 mins and 1 personal foul.  Did someone do that for a joke?

Jenkins' number was (or, more accurately, is, at least on the roster) #24.  Louis Hurd is #34, Dan Tillema is #14, and Scott Hoelzel is #44.  For that matter, Nick Krull is #42.  I could see a situation where any of these players were inaccurately plugged in the live stats at that point.  Heck, even Jerrel Harris is #25 and DeVon Jackson is #21.  I could see either of these players not having a foul accurately assigned to them on the live stats.

He's not listed in the box score
