The WARHAWKS started quickly against Stout scoring the first six points but the BlueDevils kept it close trailing by only three, 18-15, with ten and a half minutes remaining.  A 14-3 run by the WARHAWKS made the score 32-18 and later a 11-0 run gave them their largest lead of the half at 48-24 with just under four and half minutes to play.  The half ended with the WARHAWKS up 50-30.  With DJ Dantzler (2-2), Chris Davis (2-3), Antone Bryd (1-2) and Cody Odegaard (3-4) combining for 8-11) three pointers the WARHAWKS shot 64% from the floor in the half.  Stout score the first six points of the second half to pull within fourteen but that was as close as they would get.  With twelve minutes remaining the WARHAWKS went on a 21-6 run and the final score was 95-60.

Five WARHAWKS, led by Dantzler with 20 points, scored in double figures.  Odegaard and Davis added 16 points apiece while Byrd and Eric Bryson each chipped in 10 points.  Reserve center Marty Kujath finished with a game high 7 rebounds and 8 points in 10 minutes of playing time.  Phil Negri and Bryd finished with 7 and 6 assists respectively.  As a team the WARHAWKS sank a season high 14 of 28 three point baskets.  It was a good effort by the team to rebound from the embarrassing loss to Point.  It's too bad we couldn't have played this way that night.

Eric Hostetter led Stout with 16 points and Steve Pax added 12.

This detailed report is for you Old School.  I know you look forward to them.  ;) :D

Anybody think Point beats Stout by more than 19 on Wednesday?  I bet on the Point/Stout games every year with a buddy of mine who played at Stout a few years ago.  The line was -10 Point the first game this year and Point won by 11.  I'm not too confident but it is standard that we split over the year.

I think there's a decent chance... especially the way Point has been playing lately.

"Harris is an outstanding player. Once, after Koonkaew seemed to have stopped him on a drive, he reversed himself and spun around K. for an easy layup."

This is the comment I made following the first Point/RF game. I think he's the best point guard in the league.

Apparently after Ollie White picked up his fourth personal foul midway through the second half, Titan Head Coach Ted Van Dellen had some less than flattering words for White. I am not entirely sure of the exact words that were used but it sounded like it went some like this...

Van Dellen: "Hey 33, you are an a$$hole. (more expletives followed)"

Brady Hannigan: "Come on, Coach, stay classy!"

Van Dellen: "You are an a$$hole too!"

Van Dellen was T'ed up later in the half and that tech was building for a while. It was his 3rd T in his last 3 trips to Karges.

The game was getting a little chippy at this point, but the refs were calling everything in site including that foul on White (which was an obvious foul) so I am not sure what warranted this outburst. But really nothing should warrant this kind of behavior from a coach. I realize you get mad, but man have some self control!!

Did he actually use that word?

Oh yeah, he did... And I dont think that was the worst of it. I heard some other things, but that was the only quote that I could get verified by multiple sources.

That's funny.....  I talked to him today and asked him when he was taking White out to dinner and he didn't even know who I was talking about.  You'd think if he used the words you say he did he'd know exactly what I was getting at.

Ask him if he is taking #33 from RF out to dinner.

Going off on your own players is one thing but a coach has to have more self control than to go off on an opponent particularly is it's profane.   That just doesn't seem very professional.

So the front page poll asks what is the best rivalry next to Hope/Calvin.

This begs the question, what is the best WIAC rivalry?

I'm a homer, so I'd probably guess Stevens Point vs. Whitewater.

The games USUALLY are very close and hotly contested.  I know the Point crowd really gets into it when the Warhawks come to town and, especially on a weekend, Point travels well to Whitewater.  I think what fuels the rivalry is that both, or at least one of them, are usually fighting for the conference title.

I'm a homer too.  I'd have to say WHITEWATER and Platteville.  Though the intensity of it has changed some since Ryan left Platteville and VanderMuelen retired at WHITEWATER we still take pleasure in beating them.  Perhaps younger WARHAWK fans would go with you OS.
