Not much to say other than Stout got Destroyed and embarrassed by Stevens Point tonight. I would disagree with most of the reffing but it really didnt make a difference. Stout couldnt do anything offensively and were herendous  defensively. I dont think Stevens Point had a contested shot, I mean layup, in the first half and it didnt get any harder in the 2nd for them.
On a seperate note.... the Stevens Point fans could try and be a little more classy than to cheer for Stout scoring after there scorless drought. Unbelievable to be such a$$holes when clearly the team is already getting destroyed. Way to keep it classy Point  >:(

I'm pretty sure I read that about the Eau Claire game too.  That's too bad to hear.

Regional Rankings

West Region
1 Whitworth 19-0 19-0
2 St. Thomas 17-1 16-1
3 UW-River Falls 18-2 16-1
4 UW-Stevens Point 17-3 16-3
5 Chapman 17-3 14-1
6 Lewis and Clark 14-5 12-5
7 Gustavus Adolphus 12-6 11-5
8 Carleton 11-7 11-5
9 Augsburg 12-6 12-6

No real surprises here.  Similar to what I had posted in the Pool C page.  I had the top four right.  I wasn't sure where to put Chapman, being that they are an independent.  Regional record is real good for them.  Whitewater dropped out fromn my standings because of their loss.

Yeah, I haven't followed too much this year, but in the West, there are these conferences below.  Strictly by overall record:

NWC
Whitworth 17-0 (8-0)
Lewis and Clark 14-3 (7-1)

WIAC
River Falls 16-2 (9-0)
Stevens Point 15-3 (7-2)
Whitewater 12-5 (5-3)

MIAC
St. Thomas 15-1 (10-1)
Gustavus Adolphus 11-5 (9-2)
Augsburg 11-5 (6-5)

UMAC-Best team is 11-6 in a bad conference (Northwestern)

IIAC
Coe 13-5 (7-2)
Luther 11-6 (8-1 in conf)
Dubuque 11-6 (5-3)

Independent
Chapman 16-3

SCIAC
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 9-6 (5-0)

Looks like in the past, there have been 9 teams in the West Region rankings.  Here's just a quick guess without any real research on strength of schedule or regional record.

1. Whitworth
2. St. Thomas
3. River Falls
4. Stevens Point
5. Lewis and Clark
6. Coe
7. Gustavus Adolphus
8. Whitewater
9. Chapman

Even though Whitworth hasn't lost yet, I could see St. Thomas being #1 with wins over River Falls and Stevens Point.  I could also see Whitewater ahead of Coe and Gustavus Adolphus.  Of course, Point and Whitewater play this week.

Browsing the internet today and came across this little tidbit....

Certain player from La Crosse is facing a felony charge, but I see he is still on the roster.  He hasn't played much, but I would think as a program I would want to distance myself from that type of behavior.  Maybe he is no longer with the team and just hasn't been removed from the roster, but interesting none the less.....

Well it didn't take much more than a Goggle search to figure this one out.

No it wasn't.....  Probabaly the only reason I came across it.  People that are that interested though, can look it up for themselves.

He's still innocent until proven guilty, which is why I didn't think it was right to put his name in the post.

Story that I read said Koebl has suspended him as they gather more information.

This is a tough road to walk.  This young man might need help and by booting him off a team before a final ruling in court could be a real reason for him to continue the behavior.

Then again maybe he can't be helped.

After Platteville led by as many as 20 in the second half, Oshkosh cuts it to 6 with less than 2 mins... but that's the closest they'll get, as they can't convert and Platteville hits their FT's.  UWP wins 78-67.

Hmm.  If I read about this previously, I've forgotten.

Its possible that this will be plea bargained down to a misdemeanor.  If so, Ken could keep him on the team if he wanted to.  And as previously pointed out, he is presumed innocent at this point.

Too bad he was off the team tonight.  Ken cleared the bench late in the game.

Mane was on fire.  35 points, and he could have easily had 40.

The WARHAWKS couldn't throw the ball in the Pacific Ocean in the first half going 9 for 28 watching LaCrosse start the game with a 14-0 run and ending the half trailing 43-27.  After that 10 points is the closest we could get in the second half as both teams scored 38 points and the game ended with the same 16 point spread.  Losing by that many in LaCrosse was disappointing as historically we've played pretty well in their building but last night they shot the ball so well and we just never just too big of a hole to climb out of.  We've generally played considerably better defense on Mane but last night he lit us up.  Chris Davis had a double-double 21 points 11 rebounds and DJ Dantzler finished with 11 points and 4 steals.

We're playing so inconsistently you don't know which team is going to show up.  Hopefully things go better in River Falls.  We could have beaten them in our gym were it not for about a minute and half at the end of the game.  It's just been one of those years.

I'm sure I could find it if I looked, but I'll just ask.  With RF losing to WW, if Point beats RF at home and RF and Point both finish with 2 conference losses...How do they decide the 1 seed in the conference tournament?

frodotwo

They go down the standings versus the next highest opponent. So if it is WW in 3rd, SP wins the first seed.

SP was 2-0 vs WW, RF 1-1 so they get the 1 seed by virtue of the better record vs the next highest ranking team.

I guess I have to start cheering for WW then.
