Yeah, really strange.  I was following live stats too.  They had a final score of 54-52.  River Falls is really hurting.  Four losses in a row.  If they lose in the WIAC tourney, that will give them 6 in-region losses...borderline for the NCAA tourney.

It would be strange to only see 1 WIAC school listed in the tourney.  Is that even possible?

River Falls could drop down to 7th in the regional rankings.

Overall records really don't matter, so I erased those.  Records ONLY include games through Feb. 13.  I posted the results of this week, but you'll have to do the math for the CURRENT records.

Not out of the realm of possibility... though since the tournament expanded four seasons ago,  has only happened once:

2010:  Point and WW
2009: Point, Platte, and WW
2008: Point and WW
2007: Point
2006: Stout, LaX, and WW  (This was the year of the most recent tournament expansion)
2005: Point
2004: Point
2003: Point and Osh
2002: Osh
2001: EC (First year of the "Pool" system I believe)
2000: EC and Point
1999: Platte
1998: Platte and Osh
1997: Platte, Osh, WW, and Point  (tournament was 64 teams this year)
1996: Platte, Osh, and WW
1995: Platte and WW
1994: Platte and WW
1993: Platte and WW
1992: Platte and WW
1991: Platte
1989: WW
1988: WW
1986: WW
1985: WW
1984: WW
1983: WW

Phil Negri's third three pointer of the first half put the WARHAWKS in front 14-9 with five minutes gone in the first half.  With the lead 23-19 Superior started an 11-0 run that gave them their largest lead, 30-23, with a little over two and half minutes remaining however the WARHAWKS closed out the half outscoring the Yellow Jackets 9-2 and two teams were tied 32-32 at half.  Still tied 37-37 the WARHAWKS ran off six straight points to give them a lead they would hold the rest of the game.  A 12-4 spurt took the lead to seventeen 68-51, the largest lead of the game.  Superior would cut it down to eight points with a little over three minutes to play but Alex Edmunds scored to make it ten and the lead stayed in double figures the rest of the way.  The final was 79-63.

Chris Davis recorded his thirteenth double-double of the season with game highs of 26 points and 10 rebounds.  Davis also had a game high 3 steals.  Phil Negri sank his first five three point attempts and added 15 points.  Antone Bryd chipped in 11 points and had a game high 5 assists.

Jake Smith led Superior with 21 points.  Marcus Helland added 11 points and Dan Curly scored 10 points.

So, I'm a bit confused...

Of my 8 scenarios, this is the one that happened...

Scenario H   WW wins, and LaX loses and Platte wins
1. Point (14-2)
2. RF (12-4)
3. WW (10-6)
4. Platte (9-7)  LaX (9-7)
5. LaX (9-7)   Platte (9-7)
6. Sup (6-10)

WW is the 3, LaX and Platte are tied.  Moving to criteria 2, cumulative record against teams above...

Platte 3-3 (1-1 vs. Point, 1-1 vs. RF, 1-1 vs. WW)

LaX 2-4 (0-2 vs. Point, 1-1 vs. RF, 1-1 vs. WW)

Platte is the 4, LaX is the 5.

Ah... LaX swept Platte.  I think that a few or my scenarios were wrong...

Final Standings:

1. Point (14-2)
2. RF (12-4)
3. WW (10-6)
4. LaX (9-7)
4. Platte (9-7)
6. Sup (6-10)
7. Oshkosh (5-11)
8. Stout (4-12)
9. Eau Claire (3-13)

Compare this to the preseason poll:

Unbelievable stats of the year...

After starting the conference slate 2-0, Eau Claire ended the year 1-13 to finish 3-13.
After starting the conference slate 12-0, River Falls ended the year 0-4 to finish 12-4.

Point made me a believer Saturday.  We gave them a good game, but they had too much.  They were alternating Krull and a small black guard on Tony Mane, mostly one on one.  He got his points, but it wasn't enough.

DeVon Jackson was the small guard that defended Mane along with Krull.

Good point, I wasn't aware of that.  Another player I considered and didn't include because he didn't play the entire year was Mahlon Thomas from Stout.

An interesting story on Chris Davis in today's Wisconsin State Journal...http://host.madison.com/sports/college/state-and-regional/whitewater/article_b816944b-5561-5175-924a-68e27e8b5abd.html
