Greek Tragedy

HERE is St. Nobert's season statistics.

Looks like they go 10 deep with those guys averaging more than 13 minutes each.  They have two guys that like to shoot the three with both hitting over 40 3-pointers.  Only one guy averages over 5 rebs. a game, but SIX players average over 3 boards a game.  One guy has over 100 assists.

John Taylor - 6'0" senior guard:  44-96 3s, 111 asts, 10.1 pts/gm

David Wipperfurth - 6'2" senior guard:  46-125 3s, 3.4 rebs, 14.9 pts

Chris Peterson - 6'5" senior center:  4.7 rebs, 9.5 pts

Steve Papke - 6'4" senior forward:  5.4 reb, 8.8 pts

UW-Stevens Point vs. St. Norbert's will be a good game, but for how long? Point has run people out of Quandt, out of the city of Point and out of the state. They beat two WIAC opponents by 50 or more points. We all know that basketball games start at 0-0. St. Norbert's is a good team and I see Coach Grzesk preparing them well for the Point game. Who knows what could happen? NCAA tournament time is the best. Even after losing arguably their most athletic player (Dan Tillema), Point hasn't missed a beat. I see them making another National Title Run, but a tough regional awaits them.

Only problem is, it's not at Quandt.  ;D

I promise. This will be my only nit pick on the topic...

It's St. Norbert, not St. Norbert's.

Best of luck to UW-Steven's Point.  ;)

Their defense is more impressive than their offense and matches up statistically to Point. The WIAC is arguably a better league than the MWC, but a one-point loss at home to Augie is nothing to sneer at, nor is holding Grinnell to an average of 33 points less than their ppg of 103 in three meetings.

Though for many, it is almost always St. Norbs (no apostrophe). :D

As long as you don't pull out the "ph" and go with Stephens Point, I'm good. (Or the ultimate insult: Stephen's Point).

Isn't the ' s correct when your indicating possession of something.  Like it's John's coat or Bill's hat.
So he's saying St. Norbert's season stats and not refering to them as St Norberts.

In this case the school is known as St. Norbert College.

No "s" follows its name.

So the possessive for St. Norbert is correctly spelled as St. Norbert's.  Such as St. Norbert's seasons stats or Stevens Point's season stats.

The plural form such as St. Norberts or Stevens Points ... truly is not accurate as you do not have multiple schools or teams or entities.

Old School used the possessive correctly.

Crusader did not.

OK, no more nitpicking. My apologies to everyone.

Both of the WIAC co-players of the year, Tony Mane and Jake Smith, are among the 10 Jostens Trophy finalists.
