Here's a link to the Williams' website that lists the entire top 10 with a short write-up.

http://athletics.williams.edu/sports/mbkb/2011-12/releases/201109199vh3w0

...FWIW, the write-up from Point notes that the Tillema brothers are the only two returning starters.  Of course, I think of the 17 and 18 games that they started, they only started 5 of them together... but....

Looks like the annual ShineTime over-reaction is starting a little early this season....  Usually he waits until November/December.... ::)

RF not mentioned even in "Possible Breakthroughs," even though WW is. That's what years of dormancy will to for a team.

They had a pretty monumental collapse at the end of the year last year... but it sure seems like they will be pretty darn good again next year.  I agree that they don't appear to be on the general radar... just not enough annual success (or far enough in the tournament last year... that seems to be the thing for that ranking...).

As an aside BW... I wasn't hating on the Warhawks just to hate on them.  I think (as usual) they're going to do well next year.  I was just stating why they won't go undefeated.

Similar things could be said about the rest of the league too!!

NATIONAL PRE SEASON POLLS ARE THE DUMBEST THING SINCE JERSEY SHORE.  LIKE THAT PIECE OF CRAP SHOW, I DON'T PAY MUCH ATTENTION TO THE PRE SEASON POLLS.

Its more likely a team not named Whitewater or Stevens Point will win the league than any team going undefeated this year or any time in the near future.   :P

No problem.  I think we'll have a very competitive team and that as the season progresses we'll be in the mix.  We have a solid group returning and we've added some talent that should contribute.  What that means as far as our season record remains to be seen.

Anybody hearing anything in regards to transfers and incoming freshman for the WIAC schools?  I saw Superior's class already and have been paying attention to Point's incoming class.  And, speaking of Point's incoming class, was there some talk earlier of Parlow not transferring to Point after all??

I guess I might as well start with what I have seen as far as newcomers to the WIAC.

Platteville     Nick Romanowski-Franklin, Matt Savatski-Benton

Whitewater    Charlie Fischer-Arrowhead, Quardell Young-Kenosha Bradford, Travis Crayton-Burlington, Jake Jarnigo-Lakeside Lutheran, Milwaukee transfer Patrick Souter-Racine St. Catherines, Creed Knutson-Janesville Parker

Stevens Point   Jordan Lutz-Amherst, Austin Ryf-Winneconne, Joe Ritchay-Wisconsin Rapids, Tyler Forsythe-Northwestern, Alex Richard-River Valley, Alex Van Handel-Appleton North, Nick Kacala-Kaukauna, Augustana Transfer Trevor Hass and conflicting reports with Micah Parlow....also heard that Cody Hanke of Marathon was going to play baseball and also try to play basketball, anyone confirm this??

La Crosse   Michael Barrett-Monroe, Johnny Coenen-Appleton East, Connor DeBruin-Little Chute, Matthew Babel-Lake Country Lutheran, Jake                     DePerry-Bowler

Stout   Hank Kujak-Blair Taylor, Josh Pax-Elmwood

Oshkosh   Jordan Penn-Wausau West, Brody Hurtis-Marathon

Eau Claire   Lewis Mau-Colfax, Alex Anderson-Oshkosh North

Superior   Josh Kimmes-Superior, Eric Effertz-Ladysmith, Joe Carpenter-Albertville MN, Adam Hjetler-Hutchinson MN, Cody Overton-Mora MN, Waldorf Transfer Walter Charlton

River Falls    Arik Smith-Bakersfield CA, Ian Olson-Bloomer, Bo Manor-Altoona, Michael Patt-Oshkosh West, Kevin Carlson-Shakopee MN...Also get Wade Guerin and Taylor Peterson back from injuries along with transfers Ethan Thomforde and Chris Palmer.

That was all that I could come up with, feel free to comment on who you think will be impact newcomers and answer some of my questions or add recruits that I may have missed....bball season is almost here and I can't wait.

I was told Hanke was only playing baseball, although that may have changed since the summer.

Other than the two players listed above and New Berlin Eisenhower's 6'6" Chad Mathwig, Oshkosh appears to have gone the transfer route this season.  I have heard reports that former Oshkosh West standout Trey Demler has traded in his football scholarship from North Dakota to come back home and play basketball.  In addition to Demler, I have heard of a possible transfer from both Northern Michigan and Texas A&M International.

Good info cubs, I appreciate it.  It will be interesting to hear about the potential transfers to Oshkosh, it looks like they have added some talent and will really improve this year.

As far as Hanke goes, I watched him play at the state tournament this past year and he was extremely impressive.  In fact, Hanke seems to have a higher ceiling than a couple guys in Point's Basketball recruiting class.  With that said, the lack of pitching the Point baseball team returns this year they will probably need him more.  As a guy that was recruited to play multiple sports in college, I think it's a smart decision to concentrate on one.  College athletes get little enough free time without trying to pull double duty.

Greek Tragedy

I think Jenkins did fine pulling double duty for three years.  :D

That's very true.  I'm not saying it's impossible, I just wanted some time to myself to enjoy college as well.  If Hanke chooses to do two sports and is half the two-sport athlete that Jenkins was, Point is getting one hell of a player.
