I believe UWSP's first practice is in a few days, they seem to be guard heavy - lots of 2s and 3s.  Who are their bigs?  Who is the best big that we will face in the league?

Guard heavy is probably a good way of describing Point's roster this year but they have some good athletes that can guard bigger players as well.  Players on the roster that would be considered normal bigs are Jordan Brezinski and Micah Parlow.  They had another 6'7" newcomer from Appleton with the last name Van Handel but he isn't on the student directory so he isn't enrolled in school.  They also have a handful of guys 6'4" to 6'6" that can guard the 3 and 4 if need be.  There are so many new players this year that I'm not exactly sure what to expect from their games.

... Search without a space.  Nate Van Handel is at Point (his first name was previously reported as Alex a month or so ago... but it's definitely Nate).

That makes sense PS, I was searching with the space.  Point needs all the size they can get so I'm glad he is enrolled.  Like I said earlier though, I have no idea what to expect from all these newcomers.  It looks like I'll finally see what Jason Ziemer can do, I have been interested in watching him play since he was announced as attending Point.  With how high he was ranked and recruited, I'm expecting him to be a big contributor.

Ya know, certain other Point teams have been really guard heavy... 2006-07 comes to mind.  Of course, that was the year that a big guy destroyed them in the playoffs when Wash U came to town... but Ruths did that to pretty much everybody that year.

Last year UWL got a ticket allocation from Madison and publicized ticket availability.  I would assume the same arrangement will be made with Point.

Very true, I'm not worried that we are so guard heavy.  Our guards are very talented.  There are just so many unknowns with how many new players there are and how many seniors graduated.  Experience goes a long way, that's something only a few Pointers on this years team have.

Kincaid will also help fill in as a big.  I am not too worried about being guard heavy.  A lot of new faces though.  I would imagine the Tillemas would fill 2 of the starting spots (either 1, 2, or 3) Brezinski starting 5.  The other two spots would likely be up for grabs.  I am excited about Ziemer also.  Hopefully he can stay healthy.

Can someone remind me the story with Kincaid...?  He didn't play in any games for LAX last year and started/played in 12 the year before... was it an injury or did he quit or get dismissed from the team?  (I'm not interested in any "juicy" details that might be involved in the situation, just the facts about what happened).

As such, is he eligible to play right away at Point, or does he have to sit out a year?  Furthermore, he was a sophomore in 09-10... does that mean he has two years of eligibility left?

Does UWSP have a true 1 - point guard?  The other position that appears open in the 4.  Who is competing for that position?

I know he wasn't at LAX at least for the spring semester last year.  I am not sure why he didn't go out for the team.  As far as the rest of the questions, hopefully someone can fill us in.

RF not mentioned even in "Possible Breakthroughs," even though WW is. That's what years of dormancy will to for a team.

They had a pretty monumental collapse at the end of the year last year... but it sure seems like they will be pretty darn good again next year.  I agree that they don't appear to be on the general radar... just not enough annual success (or far enough in the tournament last year... that seems to be the thing for that ranking...).

I don't think you can say that was a "monumental" collapse. We knew going in it was going to be four tough games. If those 4 games had been spread throughout the season and they went 12-4 you wouldn't have thought twice saying what it was a great season.

... I have to respectfully disagree.

They had a 2 game lead on Stevens Point with 4 to play... and they lost all 4.

They lost 6 of their last 7 games.

They were 19-2, riding a 15 game winning streak and went 1-6 in their last 7.

I'll have to go back through several months worth of posts, but in my midseason predictions, I said that I couldn't see RF doing any worse than 4-4 in the second half of the conference schedule... and that this was highly unlikely.  Yes, they did play the 4 teams that, with themselves, ended up in the top 5 during those last 4 conference games... but they lost 4 straight

If that's not monumental, I'm not sure what it is.

And I don't say it to be disrespectful in terms of the collapse... I say it in terms of RESPECT, in light of what they did up until the last month of the season.  It was pretty baffling what happened, to be honest.
